Pearce and Henry go out on loan

DOUBLE ROYALS SWOOP
By Ian Wadley
CHERRIES boss Kevin Bond has again delved into the loan market with a double signing from Premiership Reading.

Alex Pearce and James Henry go "straight into the reckoning" for tomorrow's League One at Bristol Rovers.

With Shaun Cooper struggling with a dead leg and Marc Wilson having returned to Portsmouth, Pearce is likely to shore up the defence.

Wing man Henry could come in to deputise for the injured Adam Lallana.

Good move for them. Bournemouth have history of bringing on players on loan. Could be 3 Royals in their starting 11 this weekend!

Excellent news, hopefully this will cull those claiming that just because a kid has played a few U19 internationals he is ready for the Premiership!

So the rumour that Henry was about to break into the first team because of problems on the right side, is just that, a rumour!

Cookie, those rumours predate Doyles performance on the weekend though..

SC said in his pre match conference that he was trying to get a couple of the younger lads out on loan but had no more information at that time.

Given that there are very few reserve games before christmas I don't think we're in to much strife!

or maybe coppell was looking for a quick way to get them some games

neither are tested at this level, so how they perform will be interesting

And still they won't be 'tested at this level' going to Bournemouth.

Not a bad move for Pearce, he has a lot of competiiton at CB.

Hnery though we were led to believe was in or around the first team, and with only limited options available, i think it speaks volumes him going Bournemouth.

by 'this level' i meant any kind of first team action

i think people thought henry was close because coppell said himself that he was an option for the newcastle game

My only slight disappontment is that our young talent does not seem to stir up much interest at Championship level. Best of luck to the both of them though

i imagine that it would have been hard at the moment to find any championship clubs to take a punt on to youngsters at this stage of the season

As somebody else said.. no reserve games to January now I think. Players need games. Get em off to League 1 and let them get some match experience. Can only be a good thing.

Doyle will be playing on the right for the forseeable future.

What with Bournemouth rooted to the bottem of Div 1 I guess they are desperate for cover. Clearly Henry isn't yet of a standard for the First team, and, with Oster and Convey back in contention (oh and the other young lad that started on the wing in the Peace Cup) not likely of a place in the Ressy's either.

Good luck I hope they help Bournemouth out of their current position!
