They certainly play cards close to chest. Announcing a new signing who's already scored two goals for the club must be a record.

If its been confirmed by the SMS service are we sure its something the club have done recently and not someone we signed under TB2?

The Royals have completed the signing of Bulgarian striker Radoslav Vasilev.

He is a 17-year-old and joins from Slavia Sofia.

The paperwork on his move was completed late last week, and he made his under 18s debut on Saturday, coming off the bench at half time to score in a 5-0 win away to Birmingham.

Radoslav has been training with the Club for some time, and played for our reserves in a friendly against Cardiff in September, when he scored after coming off the bench.

Academy boss Eamonn Dolan told readingfc.co.uk, "Radoslav is a quality young footballer, and we are delighted.

"We've worked very, very hard to bring him here, and it's been a long battle to acquire him and fight off the competition.

"He's another player for whom we have high hopes.

"You look at our youth setup and we have players from Australia, Iceland, Korea, Ghana, Bulgaria and Ireland. But that doesn't mean we forget the lads from Wokingham.

"It's an international game now, and it's reflection of our Club.

"I said at the weekend this is the best club in England to work. Otherwise why would I be here?!

"We've had the manager of the year for the last two years, it's a great club with great harmony.

"All of those are reasons why are reputation is spreading to places like Bulgaria.

"With people like the gaffer, Nick Hammond, Brian McDermott, Wally and Kevin, it all helps so much.

"Players speak to players and agents speak to agents about our Club.

"Steve Shorey is beavering away and doing his very best to recruit the very best."

He is eligible for tonight's FA Youth Cup third round tie away at Northampton.

Eamonn said, "Now he's signed and sealed we can unwrap him and he'll definitely be involved at some stage tonight."

He was born on 12th October 1990.

I just hope he doesn't dare go out for a beer... or refuse to sign an autograph.. or develop any confidence... or act slightly arrogant.. or celebrate a goal aggressively, cause if he does, he doesn't stand a chance with the muppets who support our club.

God you cynics. Anyone who has seen Bulgaria play and their stars of the past ....errrr...Stoichkov (spelling)....should be celebrating. Technically, Bulgarians are about a million miles ahead of most English club players.
Welcome to the club.
Personally, I'm delighted that the club's scouting system is working in Bulgaria.
I expected a cyncial response from the likes of Spacey but I'm a bit disappointed that there's such a crap welcome to a teenager from others on the board.
Having said that the xenophobia on this board is so tiresome and relentless I should have known better.
