MOTM v Birmingham(A)

by higher » 15 Dec 2007 18:11

I`d imagine Marcus might grab the nobbers gong after his heroics but a few decent showings today albeit we rode our luck a few times!.A shame we couldnt smash and grab our first 3 away points..ah well theres always West ham on boxing day!
All in all an okish performance.Bring on the Sunderland.

From the limited amount of coverage I caught from the internet streams, I would vote for USA.

As I said though I only seen a bit. However he did 3 amazing saves.

Got to be USA - after all the slating he got on here in last few weeks and given that he's 'passed it' and 'his confidence is shot to pieces' ....

No chance - there was one ocasion when he kicked it out of play and everyone could see he was going to do that because he kicked directly along the line was coming in to him (from a backpass from out wide).

Did make me wonder if he's unable to kick across the ball but can only kick it back along the same axis.

After much thought, I've gone with Marcus.

In a game where no one really shone, you have to consider who did their job the best and today that was Marcus.

Well given that we were losing and playing terribly when he went off, I can't think of any other reasons, other than of course them having a complete laugh.

From what I saw (only highlights though), he did have a couple of "moments" during the game - but I agree, he is improving.

Hunty for me, was our biggest threat going forward, especially when he went onto the left. Marcus had an excellent game but Hunt gets the edge for me.

Who the hell has voted for Sonko?! He had an absolute mare. Jerome had him all day. I can only assume they only saw his clearance of the line

the tackle he made in the first half when jerome was clear was quality

if he had missed timed it he would have been off, straight red. i can't remember once he was beaten in the air and it was a performance that i thought showed he wasn't a 'liability'

Only going by the chatroom information but Marcus sounded like he pulled off some cracking saves.

Good for him.
