I hope this thread includes us trying to get a lot of loan players from the premiership. Birmingham had Muamba, Larsson and Bendtner when they were in the championship. Surely we could get players such as Chris Eagles, Wayne Routledge etc.... as we can use the loan system this year

I agree with Coppells right footed 11, why doesn`t Steve Coppell contact Messr`s Ferguson, Scolari, Wenger, Benitez, Ramos etc about taking players on a seasons loan. An example is Swansea last season, they loaned Paul Anderson, a 19 year old winger from Liverpool. He scored 10 goals and was voted young player of the year. Notts Forest are currently preparing a750 k bid for him. My point is there must be some talented youngsters at the top 4-6 Prem clubs who are itching to play and who would jump at the chance of a loan. It would be a great opportunity to get 30+ games under their belt and show their parent club what they are capable of.

As we always seem unwilling to splash the cash on players to improve the team the loan system should be perfect
However we rarely seem to use that either
We had bikey and mate on loan a couple of seasons ago and that seems to be it really
The majority of loan deals we are involved in is our reserve players going to teams in lower divisions (henry, sodje etc)

I just dont see us using Premiership players on loan we have never been a side in recent years that has made good of the loan system, and besides going by our recent record of undying loyalty to a failing side who in the premiership is going to loan players to a Championship side so they can warm the bench.

If we do loan hopefully they would have a first choice to buy as well. Frazier Campbell at Hull was awesome i wonder if hes available we need somebody to bury the ball in the net (although the championship shouldn't be to hard to do that) or maybe an up and coming player like Carlos Vela or Henri Lansbury at Arsenal?

he doesn't like the transfer system much either judging by his woeful peformance last season. He uses the loan system well to off load some of his woeful signings and academy players that either are never going to make it at RFC or won't be given a chance to establish themselves.
Don't expect much activity either on the loan or permanent front until we off load some of our 'star' players first. Sorry for the negativity but just really p---ed off today looking at the Championship fixtures and reading that Hull's manager has been given 25 Mill to spend!

I think that depends on the player and the mentality they show whilst here.

If they're that little bit special and can have a real impact then I don't think it's such a bad thing. Even if we buy a player and they're that good they make a big difference there isn't any guarantee that they'll be here for more than one season, so as long as they loanee has the right attitude then I think it'd be alright.

The lad that Hull had from United, Campbell, was a massive player for Hull and has got them to the Premiership. Would Hull have been able to get a player of his quality on a permenant deal last summer? It's unlikey, so that kind of loan has propelled them into the top flight for the first time ever. I wouldn't moan about a similar signing for us.

And so straight away teams can inflate their prices accordingly. Coppell has always stated that he had money available, and lately has indicated that he didnt use it as he was too loyal. So who knows what 'public' figure (of cash) we could have come out with.

I couldn't care less if every team in the Championship had £25 million to spend... you can only buy the best possible players for that level otherwise they would be playing in the Premiership.. I beleive most of our squad would be in the top class of championship player and the other teams have a lot to do just to catch up with us.

The championship last season was really poor... if West Brom was the best it could offer and teams like Palace and Watford could get in the playoffs then the others need to spend heaps just to catch up with our calibre of player, which is essentially the same squad that murdered the championship.

Coppell will no doubt come up with some negative reason why loan players don't work. Personally if we loaned in an Arsenal youngster to help us get promoted, I'd be over the moon. Already people on this board assume our squad is good enough to get promoted and that the league is poor, this is very dangerous (the same mistake was made last season), Coppell should be looking to strengthen all departments and loan players could very usefull.
