Sidwell back at the Mad stad

by rotherwick_royal » 09 Jul 2008 12:38

Chelsea have finally agreed terms with Villa for Sidwell. No doubt he will feature in the pre-season friendly against us, fitness permitting.

What kind of reception will he get I wonder?

A polite clap of thanks as usual for one of Reading's best players.

I'd be very dissapointed if he didn't get a good reception. He gave his all for us, even when he obviously knew he was moving on. You can't blame the guy for wanting to further his career (or getting a big pay day, sitting on the bench for a year, then furthering his career).

Muted silence with perhaps a small ripple of applause from the 4,000 who have nothing better to do with themselves than fork out £15 for a glorified training session.

Pray he doesn't score and remove his shirt revealing the substantial tattoo on his back.

As a rule I don't acknowledge any EX Reading player until their career is over

I once applauded Martin Butler when we got beat 5-1 up at Rotherham

The cheating oxf*rd dived and got a penalty and celebrated liked he'd scored

In days of old it was uncommon for a Reading player to leave for better pastures - now that the trend has changed it is very difficult to accept

If their heart isn't at Reading they can oxf*rd off

Depends which old days you're wanting to choose - Sanch bettered himself, Senior bettered himself, lots of players did - those two are just off the top of my head.

Probably driving to Aston Villa now to tell O'Neill the error of his ways

Anyone who can be arsed to show at the Mad House for Villa should be ashamed of themselves if they can't manage a chorus of Ginga Ninja for Sidders.

A model pro right to the end. Thank you, Sidders, if only East End barrow boy Shorey had shown the same dedication.

And I don't think the irony of a rousing Ginga Ninja would be lost on Steve.

Ps: RL - Keith Curle, Steve Wood, Webby, Kerry....

Hopefully he'll play as well as he did for Chelski reserves against that midfield maestro John Halls last season. I will be booing.
