Prompted by the thread "I'm glad we got relegated" - a sentiment I should add which I kind of share - I'm wondering how far we can take this. Would you like it if we got relegated again and if so would you like to see us as a non-league team in, say, around 10 years' time?

I'm (relatively) happy to be relegated, as long as it's from the Premier League.
I never want us to be relegated from the Championship. To be a yo yo club between the Premiership and Championship would be ideal.

If we were relegated back down to the lower divisions it would be really hard to take. Gates would plummet, our best players would leave etc as the downward cycle continues. Just look at Oxford Utd.
Being in the Championship is fine though. When we rarely reached this level in the past it was all about survival (2005/06, 2004/05,2003/04 1994/95 excluded)and Reading were deemed to be a much smaller club than other teams in the division. Not anymore. We have caught up and rather than looking down we are not expecting a lot more these days.

what is this bullshit thread about? we got relegated (wasnt nice) now the aim is to get promoted, hope for an investment from a rich arab and move forward not get bloody relegated again

At least we get to be on Setanta like Poxford. And Eastbourne Borough away would be a nice weekend away.
I had a dream last night that we were relegated again, into League 1. I can assure you it wasn't fun.

I don't want to be in the Conference. But I would still have an ST if we were.
i don't believe that any real fan would want their club to get relegated
i know that people are saying it is a good thing we are no longer in the prem but through the whole of last season we wanted to stay up in the big league

The Fizzy rubbish league just isn't good enough for me. We want to get promoted and stay in the PL, none of this non-league hippy **** rubbish. gees, what were you all taking last night? let me have some.

No. WE don't.... you might, but many of us are quite happy at the moment. The new fans who have been brought up on success are too demanding. A bit of doom might sort out the plastics nicely!
