Ipswich v Reading - Match thread

by philM » 13 Sep 2008 14:16

Reading without Matejovsky (knee) & Cisse is a doubt (toe injury)
Also out - Sodje (knee) and Duberry (calf)

Jon Stead could make his Ipswich debut after joining on loan from Sheffield United on transfer deadline day.
David Wright and David Norris (both ankle) are in contention, but Ben Thatcher is a doubt after suffering a dead leg in training.

URRRZZZZ!

Update - unchanged side, Doyle and Long up front...

Good to see Long starts. Remind me again, what has he done the last 20 appearances?

Amen, hopeless against Luton and Palace. If someone's having a mare in a winning team, should you still not change a winning team?

I always wonder about people who post made up score lines. What exactly are they aiming to achieve by it? I mean, if you're on hobnob then chances are you've also got internet commentary on so it seems fairly unlikely anyone would fall for it. Still, whatever floats your boat.

Coppell knows what he's doing, maybe the Long and Doyle combination (long-term) will make Long an established partner for Doyle in the Ireland International set up and that will add experience and value to Long. But we'll see N. hunt at some point in the game, I'm sure.

Its quite clearly a joke, alex mathie played for ipswich at elm park around the same time we had michael meaker on the wing just to put things into perspective. Anyone who followed us back then would of seen it a mile off.

And the fact that Alex Mathie retired about 6 years ago....

"would HAVE seen it"

Sorry but the game seems a bit dull.

Righto. Incidentally, I was on the Southbank long before Michael Meaker did his little dummy shoulder drop for the millionth time.

Good man. You remember in the programmes at elm park they used to have the "opposition star player" chunk under the visitors? I remember alex mathie from there, I used to take the comments there as gospel so I was always worried when one of the star players got the ball.
Remember the likes of dele adebola, clive mendonca, etc all appearing in there
