Morgan In or Morgan Out ?

by Chuckle Brother » 13 Nov 2008 14:47

So the FA is going to review further evidence from Barnsley before deciding whether to hit Morgan with additional punishment on top of the yellow card he received for the elbow "incident" last Saturday.
Whether it is really feasible that a decision will be made one way or another before Saturday is debatable, but would you rather Morgan played or not ?
If he is banned, is that a good thing because it means they will be down to the bare bones in defence (I presume Ehiogu is out after his red against Barnsley) ? The only other specialist CB I can think of off the top of my head is Kilgallon and he hasn't awlays been in favour of late.
Or if he plays is it a good thing because at the end of the day he's a bit of a cumbersome oaf that potentially our strikeforce should be able to have some success against ? And after all the publicity might he be a bit reluctant to get stuck in quite as much as he usually does ?

There'll be so much concentration on his game that he'll be scared to go anywhere near anyone. He's a solid defender, so that's only a good thing for our boys.

their defensive record is built on those two at the back,
one out, and one whos head isnt quite right sounds like a great way of getting some pointage for us up there!

especially with bikey keeping beattie out ofg the game

It depends what way you look at it really. Morgan gives away a lot of fouls, and the majority of our goals seem to come from set-pieces as of late. He's also fairly slow, but is good positionally. He's the 'orderer' of their defence and he'll be a big loss for them if he's out.

So you could say it's a good or a bad thing really. In my opinion, we've never struggled to score goals against them with him in the side before, so I won't exactly be relieved is he is missing.

In.

If he is out and we win 3-0, their fans will whine that it was only because they were so weakened.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter who they play against us; it will be up to us to beat them regardless, and I think we will do whether Morgan plays or not.

Without doubt he should be out, and should have been sent-off, the more I see it the more it looks a very deliberate elbow that has caused Hulme serious injury, I for one hope that the FA take another look at it and give him what he deserves.

If what he did deserves punishment then he should be out.

As far as we are concerned I'll back our forwards against any defence in this division and don't need to wish teams weakened when we know we can get one over on them anyway.

In

Beacuse with all the furore surrounding the Hume incident, Morgan's first mis-timed challenge will probably result in him getting sent off !! :)

That's assault plain and simple - should have got a red card and deserves to have the book thrown at him.

Failing that, if you can put up with watching SSN for half an hour you'll probably see it a dozen times.

Would you then agree that Bikey should have also had the book thrown at him for the head butt in the friendly against Örgryte IS.

Morgan is one big fella, you can see how solid he is in that incident, Hume had no chance at all, he went in bravely, and sadly came out worse off.

Barely touched him- whatza matta wiv ya. I saw some other footage on the beeb today when Bill Turnbull (what a knob) was whining about two rugby league lads having a bit of handbags. Its a mans game. Me I would send these sissys off for lack of testosterone.

This is the same footage but zoomed in a bit closer. You can't see much from first angle but the second angle they play at normal speed and then again in slow motion. You can see Hume's head go back from the force of the impact.

LOL at the SUFC players trying to claim that Morgan was using his arms to get leverage on a jump for the ball. Maybe they should check out the distance between his feet and the ground.

If that's as high as he can jump, then we seriously need him to play against us.

By the way - how on earth does Andy D'Urso see that as anything other than serious foul play
