Oh when the Saints.......

by The Cap » 13 Nov 2008 20:27

........go marching into the South Stand.

Apparently the word on the Chronicle streets are that their first 2,200 tickets were snapped up and now an extra 1,500 are to be made available. Looks like the South Stands gonna be rockin' and rollin' when the Saints come to town a week Saturday.

Sounds like a touch of coastal optimism to me. What say the massed ranks of the Loyal Royals :?:

Perhaps they think the QE2 is diverting down the Thames

Should be an awesome game. Atmosphere should be good. Hopefully we sell a few more tickets first. Let alone southampton.
Hopefully we get a good win saturday first, takes us back home with confidence :D

Good to hear they have sold their original allocation,I was suprised they didnt take more of an allocation in the first place, as we are probably the closest league away game for them, unless my geography has let me down?!!

Was dissapointed with Derby's turnout last week so good to see the Saints bringing plenty down.

I've heard this sheet about 4 times this season.

QPR will take the full allocation
Derby will sell out
Plymouth will sell out
...

It's all crap and I don't believe anyone will take 4'000 fans.

Apparently they had their lowest league attendance ever for St Marys against Bristol City last week?
16,000 rings a bell. Sure someone will find out if this is true..

Southampton will be only my second live game of the season so I hope there's a good atmosphere and we give them a trouncing.

Almost but not quite.

Attendance for Southampton v Bristol City = 14,535 (08/11/08)
Attendance for Southampton v Coventry = 14,226 (28/10/08)

And that's just for this season...

Oh, and I really hope we give them an absolute stuffing - would be great to see us score at least four. Would be happy with a 1-0 (Kebe) though!

Franchise Junior (junior) will be going to his third home game of the season.

Currently he thinks we only ever win by four goals at home (Luton & Swansea) - hope he keeps up his record.

For the record, Franchise Junior (senior) saw two home games last season - 0 - 2 vs Bolton and 0 - 2 vs Fulham. It's entirely his fault we went down !!

I hope you have disowned him and made him spend his Saturday afternoons shopping with his Mum instead

Poor lad - that would be really cruel.

Credit to him though, they were his first two games ever, and he's hooked. He couldn't wait for this season and they're both aiming for at least one game a month. Given that travel distance is a problem, and Mrs Franchise is definitely NOT a Royal, that isn't so easy.

Southampton are a bigger club that Reading. I read it somewhere a few seasons ago. Therefore they will easily bring 4,000.

Anyone know if poor deluded Nigel sqashy is getting any better? At least his tip to put all my money into Icelandic banks was a good one.

Has the game been moved to the Stade De France because Southampton have that many fans coming? I know they're the biggest club in the whole of Hampshire, but come on, really?

They might as well have stayed at The Dell.

More to the point, for Saints fans

" You weren't born when you were good" is a truism for most.
