"Reading Tenacity Will Come Through"

by SteveRoyal » 06 Dec 2008 23:05

PAULSUTTON13 @ BBC 606 sad sad wolfy...power to the people...though u think everyboby hoofed the ball u still lose...we now know you and mick m always goes bad in the end. Birmingham class and reading tenacity will come through.

That laddy was talking about QPR's win over Wolves.
What I'm posting this thread about is that the "reading tenacity" part made me cringe slightly.
Especially as Birmingham are being labelled "class".

Does that mean we have no class, but mere determination?
Does it mean that Birmingham have more of a right to get back to the PL?

Thoughts?

(&& This may be a lame thread. I just want to know what everyone makes of that comment...)

Brum do not have any more right than us to get back into the PL. Every team in this division has the same right to be in the Premiership. We need to be more consistant as everyone's saying. So far so good, let's keep it going URZ. The table won't lie at the end of the season. We have a lot of determination in our squad, just look at Monday night's performance! Brum don't neccesarily have more class, any player can be 'class'-intelligence comes into it, i.e Rosie is class. Sometimes.

I reckon we'll see who has more class on December 20th. Birmingham aren't that great.

brum possibly have the better rated players, but we our the better team and can beat anyone on our day, we just have to make sure that "our day" is every game home and away.

though i am a little worried about the amount of chances we'll create without kebe for 3 games. granted we did well today with only 10 men and managed to score but can henry come in and cope well for 90 mins in the vital game with brum?

Just take Kevin Phillips out. Then the least we can expect is a draw.

No one has more right than any other team

its a matter of being consistent week in week out.

birmingham are at the moment especailly coming from behind

but thell slip up eventually, and its up to us to make sure were on there tail if they do.

Was feeling quite confident about the Brum game. With Kebe out I now have serious doubts.

We've shown that, with a man sent off, we've improved our result twice. Both times away from home. So that shows to me we're finally picking up away from home.

Soton aside, we're also imperious at home.

I think our "tenacity" comes from players like Shunt, Doyle, Harper and Nunt, who all hustle and bustle. We have players that would run for hours for the team.

Not only is Doyle the best striker outside the Premiership, he works and works and works...
We have plenty of that, with some quality also.
That is a credit to the Manager and the Club.

FFS it's a piece of piss to understand, get over it.

Birmingham have a couple of players with more class than us, but we're a more classy team. We both work hard, but Brum have ground out a lot more late wins than us. Phillips appears crucial to their success. Doyle is very important to us, but I'm not sure if he is as important as Phillips to Birmingham.

I think the strangest part of this Brummie diatribe is that we have scored far more than Brum and have a huge GD advantage over them - and they have class and we have tenacity? Other way round Shirley? Especially when they went around scratching 1-0 wins with a goal by Phillips in the last minute.

Bikey, Rosenior, Doyle, and possibly Marek are the best at what they do in the divison. The rest of the team are up there. I think that comes down as "class".

We're also extremely hard working- just ask Doyle, Harper, Karacan, Long and the Hunts.

Except in that post he isn't making any spelling mistakes or using incorrect words, he's just using abbreviations(?) without inserting a doobery what I've forgotten the name of suddenly

I hate text speak too, but only where it's difficult to follow unless you're a teenager who knows the rules.

We'll be fine, as long as there are 10 Reading players on the pitch at the end of the game

But i agree. It is worrying. I wonder if Kebe will be fined by SSC

Knightly, Hennessey, Iwelumo, Ebanks-blake

Phillips, Larsson, Bent, Jerome, Carsley
