SHunt on 'Goals on Sunday'

by Flash » 21 Dec 2008 12:57

The man is utterly shameless. It started with the programme's player cam being on Shunt for yesterdays match. They go through explaining why he's such a good player, what great control and work ethic he has. It felt like a lot description at some auction.

He then keeps on about how much he wants to be in the Premiership, even using that classic line of I'm 27 now, wanna play in the Premiership... oh but I'm really happy at Reading.

He then goes on near the end of his little expose to say that he's got more experience than Noel and so deserves to be in the Prem more than him. He'd even roll over his bro to get there. He fininishes on the point that 'there's the top four, then there's the group below them, that's where I want to be.' He is utterly shamless with an overly inflated ego, and if he didn't play for us, I'd boo him at matches just like every other fan round the land. He's overrated and a w*nker.

I thought he came across as honest and genuine but also naive and arrogant.

Clearly advertising himself with a big "come in for me sign" to any mid table prem club interested.

He's playing a slightly dangerous game and I doubt if Coppell and Co will be pleased with his lack of respect for the club and his lack of professionalism.

If we don't sell him in January I can see him being off loaded before we hopefully start next season back in the prem.

He's only out for himself and as good as a player he can be, I wont be bothered if he goes.

Either way.

He was always going to put himself in the shop window with this opportunity, I have no problems if he does get his Premiership move, he has worked his butt of at the Mad Stad and good luck to him, after all the questions he was being asked led him into the comments he made and in all reality they were no different to what he has been saying all season. When you look at our other two "Stars" who have left for pastures new, Shorey was so lack lustre and not interested last season where as Sidwell put his head down and worked hard for us, and I put Hunt in the latter category he wants the top league but is doing his damndest to get his present club there as well. In reality I dont think anyone can complain about his desire and commitment to the Royals.

Probably the most blatant 'come and get me' plea ever to be seen on national television.

Pathetic.

every time he was asked he question he managed to turn it around and say how badly he wants to get back in the premiership

seems like a thing called loyalty has bypassed him completely

He literally thinks he's god's gift and I just don't think he'll be able to cut it at the clubs he seems seems to be aiming for. He's a Fulham player, not an Evertonian/Villa boy. None of the boys that have left us in recent years have done particularly well at other clubs and I dn't see your friend and mine being able to buck that trend. He should stick with the team he's playing well at, where he's getting a game, and one which in all likelihood will be in the Prem next season (touching every bit of wood in my house).

Nothing new. He always gives his best whatever. I'm actually quite encouraged; it means he won't be going to the likes of Stoke and Wigan. I'm sure he expects Reading to get promoted, so there's no point. But he'd go to Everton, we know that: they'll have to pay 5 million, though, and they weren't prepared to do that in the summer.

Was it definitely an 'I want to play for a 'big team' in the premiership' performance, or could it have been an 'I want to play in the Premiership with Reading' performance?

Hes a workhorse and we know that... so I cant see why he'd move in Janurary. A promotion, relegation and a move to a similar club thats already there doesnt seem a step forward. Two promotions with Reading seems a lot better on his CV.

I personally think he wont go to a Premiership club, I think he'll stick it out and get us promoted; before moving to a Spanish/Italian/German club

i thought other than his industry and a very clever free kick for doyole he did show any prospective buyers why maybe he isnt worth 5 million-lost count of the number of times he failed to trap easy balls, ran into blind alleys, and passed to the opposition

hes great, i love him
i just think youd be mad to pay 5 million
but then football is a funny old game

It sure is with it's 'ghost goals' and divers who never really seem to get that diving is for the swimming pool, not the pitch. *cough*Ronaldo*cough*
