Deserves it as well after the hard work he's put in.

Nope, it looks like you're the only person who's said this.

No surprise, I was fully expecting (and hoping :) ) that he would be the next player to sign an extended deal as he is developing really well. He was being looked at by quite a few clubs when at Boavista and we are gradually starting to see the reasons why. Let's hope he can continue on his upward trend !

We certainly can't afford for him to plateau at the moment.

Not really, A lot of the others have already shown they can play at a much higher quality.

All of our players will have to improve to compete in the Premiership next year.
I can guarantee that none of our players will be looking to plateau from their form in the Championship this year, but you carry on.

Wouldn't surprise me if a bid had been made for him. Rejected but new contract awarded as a result.

They talk about a a team needing a good spine and he certainly adds to ours.

Great news for the club and fans, after a bit of a dodgy start and not really being played consistently in one posistion Cisse is now becoming a mainstay of the midfield. Good all round player who is fast becoming a fans favourite, CISSE, CISSE.

Don't get me wrong, he's a decent championship midfielder these days. But that's still fairly new. He still has large flaws in his game, not all the time, but they still crop up.

The problem is he just isn't good enogh at the basics in my view and he doesn't do anything spectacularly well.

He's got a decent scoring rate and shot when he gets forward. He can tackle a bit and he can pass a bit, although that's always been his weakest area when I've seen him. He'll need to improve a hell of a lot to be much use in the Prem. Given how much he's improved just since the start of the season (and that the improvement seems to have slowed down) suggests to me he'll never be more than a good Chumpionship player.

I'd be more than delighted if he proves to be a Prem regular for us, and I recognise I'm probably at least a little biased against him. BUt he just doesn't look to have what it takes to be great for us IMO.

If you'd said at the start of the season that Cisse would be our best centre mid I would have been slightly worried. Really seems to have adapted his game, still makes the odd mistake, but has cut out a lot of errors and he really seems to have taken on a more attacking attidude. Still young, plenty of improvement ahead of him, really blooking forward to the player he could become, maybe he really is the new Viera!!
