Match Thread - READING (H) v IPSWICH (A)

by Mike Hunt » 14 Mar 2009 14:16

Teams:

Reading: Hahnemann; Rosenior, Armstrong, Duberry, Pearce, Gunnarsson, Harper (c), Little, S Hunt; Kitson, Long
Subs: Federici; Cisse, Matejovsky, Kebe; Doyle

Ipswich (4-4-2): R Wright; D Wright, Thatcher, Balkestein, McAuley; Miller, Norris, Quinn, Civelli; Lisbie, Stead
Subs: Supple; Campo, Garvan; Counago, Dos Santos

So he has changed the midfield and not the defense... What does Bikey need to do...

Doyle also on the bench....

Where is Tabb? What on earth is Coppell playing at?

I have no idea...

at least Ipswich are playing 4-4-2

They feel they can go for the kill

We'll probably win with Kitson in the side, but that team is one hell of a backward step.

Does make you realise how strong in depth our squad is with the likes of Matejovsky, Doyle, N Hunt, Bikey, Tabb and Lita not in the side.

dissapointed not to see Bikey in the team, I don't understand why he's not been given a game.

Nice to see USA back, hopefully he can organise the defence. (bit of a shame for A-Fed though)

As for the midfield, at least they are all players Kits knows well?

Doyler has needed a rest and it's good we've finally got the quality to be able to do that.

This team is far too defensive for my liking.
Where is Tabb? Where is Bikey? Why is Matejovsky on the bench?
Bad feeling about this game now.

Odd selections again, although it should be well capable of maintaining our recent form in the push for promotion !!

I think it's a good selection. Kits and Little are plenty creative enough and our problem recently has been a weak defence. Harps and Bryn should provide cover and Marcus will organize them properly. If we get a couple of goals, we'll win. Simple as.

I did fail to mention that if we won I'd never doubt Coppell again.
Let's just see how Kitson and Long work together.

I heard a rumour yesterday that Tabb has an injury, but I didn't know if there was any truth in it. Today's line up would suggest there is.

I can understand dropping Matejovsky to the bench given the opposition. Ipswich have a lot of energy in the middle on the park and with Doncaster away on Tuesday who play very neat football, I'd suggest that Marek is more suited to that game. As for Bryn, I think it's just a case of keeping the squad fresh.

Royalee aside, I'm a bit surprised by the response to this side on here. I think most people wanted to see some changes to the side.

We did, but not these ones.
Many will be happy with Hahnemann coming in, but Harper and S Hunt we all wanted out.

That's a fair point. I think Coppell may be looking at three games in a week and just trying to keep things fresh.

I'd read plenty of people on here moaning about Marek, although I'm a fan and would rather see him on the pitch. He does make a very good impact player though.

Really? I thought Harps was out already  Anyway Tabb couldn't come in if he was injured and Kebe provides cover for both wings.

Good to see Coppell showing some bollocks.
