Bounce around the ground?

by hughsies no.1 » 18 Mar 2009 13:06

now im guessing I will recieve a massive dodding in the next minute i post this as everytime i see a thread on songs or atmosphere i tend to give it a custard pie BUT - at donny last night it was pretty impressive and it was when brizzie city came to our place. whether it would catch on or not i dont know but think its looks like fun. great result last night. bring on palace! and yes this is stealing a song from another club which is not good but when in rome...

Cop-pell said bounce around the ground, (CLAP)
bounce around the ground, (CLAP)
bounce around the ground. (CLAP)

Is this type of thread more embarrassing than my love for all things Leona Lewis?

you dont need to tell me how stupid this thread is. I was fully aware of that when i was writing it. im at uni bored out my brain in the library and these things never happen unless there suggested. was just an idea which i thought looked good and sounded fun

I like that Torres song, maybe we could sing that ?

Or how about we belt out Delilah a few times ?

I thought Bristol City looked like a bunch of Baggies fans, and the Donny fans looked even worse.

The bouncing thing has been a Baggies trademark for years so why start copying it now ?

How far back does that go?

I seem to remember reading in a Reading fanzine that we had a song that went something like this:

Up and down the football league we go,
Bouncing up and down like this
*JUMPING UP AND DOWN*

That was in the late 80's....or was it 1991?

Having said that, we probably nicked it off somebody.

As one is not allowed to stand up, could one perhaps jiggle one's seat, or perhaps throw one of one's prawns in the air?

There used to be a 'Here we go again, jumping up and down like this' but it was pretty much a two or three person effort - I suspect RwC may have been a perpetrator....

Actually, we do have our own anthem, never sung enough.
The problem is its too short, needs a couple more versus.
So how about:
.........though streets broad and narrow,
Clap, Clap, Clap Clap Clap, Clap clap Clap Calp, Reading!

Madjeski`s our saviour
and Coppels our Major
Wally and Kevin all part of the team
and up in the boardroom you can hear em all singin
Clap, Clap, Clap clap Clap, Clap clap Clap Calp, Reading!

Friday and Dixon
and Wagstaff and Deathy
all graced the turf at the famous Elm Park
and in the Spread Eagle
you can hear the fans singin
Clap, Clap, Clap clap Clap, Clap clap Clap Calp, Reading

OK OK! I`ll get my coat.

The ayatollah is possibly the gayest song ever in football. Its gayer than that shite Chelsea played before our game with them on boxing day in 2006.
