He's just not good enough. Simple as. He and Hahnemann can take a long walk this summer.

not commanding his area well, being second choice to our best keeper that's all

Well I disagree with point 1, and point 2 is irrelevant to my opinion of him.

Federici low to his right is shocking. Keep your eye on it (or hopefully we wont have to again). He's as inconsistant or worse than Hahnemann. Shocking communication to his defence. Handling is iffy and all round game worries the shit out of me when I watch him.

Hahnemann is a top shot blocker. Whether he was at fault for the first brum goal is debatable. Rosiener should have closed the player down imo. His distribution is not great, but in terms of all round play Hahnemann is ahead of Federici.

Fedders stepped up well, settled in, but clearly needs more experience. This was initially proven when the defense were twitchy with him on the pitch. Some of the points about positioning and commanding his area are correct, but as stated he needs more experience. He has made outstanding saves in his short career with us, and has made glaring errors. Give him time / experience and consistancy to his game and then we shall see where he's at.

But far more errors than outstanding saves. Too many remember one good game at Old Trafford, and he was superb that day, but that doesn't make him a good kepper. Way to many mistakes! Needs time to develop? Not here he doesn't. We need a new keeper this summer and someone has to make way, and don't forget Anderson making noises about wanting the first team shirt.

Yes, OT was great but what I really noted were his first few games in for USA this year being clean sheets. You could see his confidence growing with each game, and with it so did his command of the area and communication to the CBs. He has always had superb distribution which is why teams have specifically targeted slowing him down (illegally). It was only when we started changing CBs every game that he started to leak. At which point SSC opted for experience over agility. That might wash for this season but I wonder if the play-offs are USA's last hurrah?

You having a laugh? :o

He's better than Marcus at commanding his area!!

And Marcus has been at fault for goals this year, i don't remember Fed being at fault for any. I know he played less, but he made less mistakes.

Coppell broke his golden rule in bringing back Marcus when Federici had claimed the goalkeeping spot, was playing well and hadn't made any mistakes.
Yesterday, the mistake came back to haunt him. Hahnemann was old, tired and error prown.

With a better back 4 protecting the keeper Federici would get the nod for his superior kicking and distribution.

Coppell hasnt got a golden rule. He changes a team if he thinks he needs to whether they have won, drawn or lost

Feds is still young for a goalkeeper and has done very little wrong. He will have other chances soon. Marcus will return to the States in the not-too-distant future.
