Brendan given vote of confidence

by russyb » 06 Oct 2009 10:38

reported in the Sun today.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... p-gun.html

BRENDAN RODGERS has had the dreaded vote of confidence from Reading chairman John Madejski.
Boss Rodgers is under fire from fans after winning only two of his 10 games in charge since he replaced Steve Coppell in June.

Reading, who have not won at home since January, are fourth-bottom in the Championship.

Madejski said: "We are trying to get back into the Premier League and I believe we have a great squad and a great manager to do that."

Doesn't really sound much like a 'vote of confidence' to be fair.

Seconded. Though Madejski is clearly deluded.

Not deluded, but a business man, not a football man.

The typical "load of bollox" that has become the norm from that ass of an owner, trying to get back into the Premiership my ass, anyone who believes that load of crap is a bigger knob than the pillock that said it !!

I do wnder why they have to keep setting expectations so high. It puts undue pressure on the manager (although he has done that himself) and on the players.

And ultimately it just makes them look stupid.

No, that is the ambition.

But also agree with Wycombe, again. Becoming a habit.

Should be Madejski that goes not Rogers. We are trying to get back in the Premiership, what a joke when you haven't won a home game for 9 months.

Madjeski has been saying that every week since we signed the guy, hardly the "dreaded" vote of confidence.

Do you think he should say:

"The manager I hired is crap, the players he's bought and inherited are crap, and we're a country mile from the Premiership where I was hoping to sell to some Arabs"

That would be positive and help moral.............

?

Did he say he believed it could be done this season? I think he means maybe next season.

Sadly this could be true. Trouble is, the Mad man will not be paying yet more compensation to another club for their manager which rules out the likes of Parkinson, Pardew etc.

Aside from Curbishley, (would he want the job anyway?), I can't think of anyone else who would be approachable. SSC I suppose, and that is my guess in a caretaker capacity until the end of the season. He has form in that regard too.

Hoo hum.

This is a shot across BR bows, anyone in management will see this for what it is,
Madejski said: "We are trying to get back into the Premier League and I believe we have a great squad and a great manager to do that.
its a signal that MJ will not accept this anymore and his ambitions are high and without publicly slating his manager which ofc reflects badly on him, i give BR till next window then he'll be gone
