I ENJOYED that.

I know this won't be popular but I HONESTLY really enjoyed the first half.

So you can flame Rodgers as much as you like for claiming his team is enjoyable but tonight, IT WAS.

We were BLOODY GOOD and it was shocking defending that let us down.

And we REALLY need a striker.

I really wonder if all of Rodgers' problems stem from not getting the striker he wanted?

I'm confused.

I agree that we were good in the 1st half...

But we are not going to score goals with the strikers we have...

Is Bent still available on Loan ? Could not be worse then what we have here...

Yes we knocked it around nicely but as soon as Leicester scored it was all over. If you enjoyed all the huffing and puffing in the second-half thats fine.I just watched resigned to yet another home defeat.
In reality though we are going to be at the same level as Rochdale next season.

Thing is, we do play well in the first halves. It's the seconds we're utterly shit at. We play half a game, we have half a good side, and we have a half arsed manager that talks and does little else.

Soon the stadium will be half empty too.

I'd say it was shocking finishing that let us down.

No chance had with the goal. Only criticism you can make is having no one on the far post, but Tabb did have a player to mark so no blame for him. No chance for Fed and Sigs man had to get that exactly right to score.

Most improvement and best performance of the season I've seen. Keep the same 11 and Rodgers can carry on for another game. If he makes changes he should be sacked before the next game starts.

Ian. He should go now. He bought bloody Rasiak FFS. Long looks unfit. Church out of his depth. Hunt looks a shadow of the player he was. As Strap's stats reveal this is our worst start since 19 friggin 31. Yes we did play well in the first half but ulimately 10 points out of 42 is a disgrace.

Ah, but he is now playing exactly the right formation, with almost the right players and we were vastly improved from the last game. We had much the better of the game but couldn't stick the ball away.

All the neutrals and even the Leicester fan in the pub said we'd pretty much been robbed and just needed better finishing. They also said no need to fear relegation on that display.

So we were really good but shocking at defending and our strikers need replacing!
Actually I mostly agree with you. The performance was quite good for 44 minutes. Ironically this represents a step backward as in previous matches we have held on for 45 minutes or so. The defence made only one basic shoolboy error and was punished.
Midfield gave so much service to the strikers that any one with a little more accuracy could have scored. As it was I think I would stick with Church and Raziak because Long is past it. If fit I would put Hunt on the bench for the next game.
Much better but still not goals, no points and looks like we are going to spend a while yet in the relegation zone. So IMHO Clodagh's time is nearly up.

Forest, you overlook the three or four times our defence was split open. Did you not see Fedders' point blank saves. One was right before half time. We could have lost that by more.

Yeah, we hit the post and has a few good moments .. but how many really top draw saves did their keeper make. Not many.

Yep, that's what I told my Southampton mate when they d*cked on us last season at home. Can't fault a lot of the play, and felt mildly positive afterwards. We can't score for sh*t though and it just seems our fate is sealed after sh*tting on Leicester for large parts of the match (mainly first half) and failing to score.

Marek came up with some hospital passes at times but I'd still choose him every game. He takes a chance and came up with three magnificent passes, which nearly resulted in something.

If only we could get Cox on-loan. We need a striker, desperately.

More than Federici. He made one excellent save. Fed stood up very well and denied Fryatt anywhere to shoot tiwice but that was just good keeping, not excellent saves.

Equally with better shooting we could have won that game 6-3

We have scored 3 goals in the second half of games this season. But you probably enjoy that too because you're easily pleased.

Decent first half performance, appaling finishing and second half devoid of ideas. Plus ca change.

Harsh Pearcey - I always used to think you were one of the more balanced posters on here.

The problem is not wholly Rodgers fault. At the end of the day we missed out on Smith because Sir John would (or could not) afford to stump up the money out of his own pocket and who else were we going to get then but Rasiak. He is proven at this level and the alternative would have been an unproven lower league youngster.

BR is having to work within tight purse strings. From what I have seen of Smith at Pompey he would probably have made all the difference and it was not Rodgers fault that we did not get him. He made it clear time and again that Smith was his main target.

Now we have no choice but to persevere with the promising Church and Rasiak. Hunt is injured and for whatever reason Long is a shadow of the player he was during the second half of last season (and even then most on here thought he was useless).

^ Andrew my post is primarily factually based. This is our worst start since 1931.
This is also our worst run at home in our entire history...and by miles.
As I said in that post we did play well but ultimately we lost again and hand on heart did you really think we would get back in the game after that?
I thought Rasiak was very slow both physically and mentally. Church worked hard but he is missing gilt edged chances and we don't have that luxury at the moment because we can't keep a clean sheet.
I was very positive last season perhaps too much so....I haven't felt the same way this season.
Another relegation would be disastrous. We are in danger of being cut off with two or three other clubs.
Its time for change.
