Noel Hunt

Out injured for the season.

The search for a striker is that more desperate.

Very sad news. Get well soon Noel

The only good thing that may come from this is we will definitely get a new striker in soon.

Comes around the same time Rodgers rules out a loan move for Cox...

Bugger my favourite player out for the season. Rodgers is a bit unlucky it has to be said...

David Healy must surely be available for a loan from Sunderland?

Desperately dissapointing for everyone connected. Hope Noel makes a speedy recovery. A big problem we had up front gets even worse and BR has no choice but to react, hopefully with a loan signing.

Shit, I really like Hunt as a striker. He's the best we have as well! (Not saying a great deal)

A striker on loan, or at the very least recalling Bignall/Mooney is essential now. Long is simply not good enough. Church doesn't have enough experience and Rasiak isn't good enough either. Rasiak and Church is ok at a push, but that's it really.

I wonder what the recall options are on Bignall/Mooney?

I wouldn't recall Bignall but Mooney I would have back right away...

I'd prefer a loanee in with real pedigree to act as a foil for Church. But I can't say I disagree with recalling Mooney, he's looks like he could compliment Church, just not sure on his scoring record or experience.

Is Mooney on a fixed loan term or have we got an option for early release from Charlton?

Bad news for the team that Hunt is out but this needs to be sorted out fast.

ffs. church, rasiak and long. in a total (including subsitute apps) of 25 apps this term between them they have scored 3 goals. church is, whatever his potential belies, not ready for this level. rasiak was at this level five years ago and now seems fit for the polish second tier and i doubt that shane long will ever be ready for any level that is not horizontal and surrounded by take away food. mooney and bignall are unproven but at least they are untested and, in comparison to what weve got right now, have enviable goal scoring records at their respective loan destinations.

....can we have them back please?

This will sound strange to many but this could be a blessing in disguise. BRs hand is forced. Does he recall either Bignall or Mooney? Does he dip into the loan market? He will have had his scouts out keeping tabs on the two on loan. The stumbling block will be finding someone, with the right attributes, who would want to play for us AT THIS TIME.

SJM could be a stumbling block.

Marcus Bent anyone? Gary McSheffery???

Is Jason Scotland playing for Wigan?
Big, powerful, and proven at this level.
Perfect foil for Church, right?

Ideal WE ARE FUKKED!!!! If we couldn't score before, we sure can't now!

Is Simeon Jackson still available?

Hunt has only scored 2 of our 11 goals.

Good shout, especially with Benjani.
Although I'm pretty sure he'd rather play in the Premier League.

Jackson would be a cracking target. Rated at only a million by Gillingham, so would not break the bank. Another Lita in the earlier years hopefully. Mind you pigs might fly.
