Only losing heavily in the next few Champ games will stop him being manager for at least the rest of the season - and looking at the next few games, that's a possibility! I just hope the young lads in the team don't dwell on the cup gliory but focus on the league games, otherwise we are in trouble.

I've based my opinion on everyhting I've heard him say, and everything he's done. You cannot simply write him off if we lose at Forest on saturday. Forest are the form team of the league atm, so i am ofcourse expecting us to get beat.

Bloody brilliant job from McDermott, ably assisted by Benitez. We need to treat Forest in exactly the same way because they are flying.

I'd wait a little longer before giving him a permanent deal. No hurry, but he's doing himself no harm.

What is encouraging is that the players look very much fitter than they did under BR - or is it my imagination.

100% give him the job. Get back to how our club do their business. Trust a solid, straight-talking ,unfancied guy to do his business. If we go down playing the right players in the right positions with the right attitude then frankly there are worse things in this world.

Fairweather fan with children now, and didn't see the plymouth debacle first hand, but i can't remember seeing two such solid, passionate, INTELLIGENT, performances like that back-to-back for a long time. Agree totally with post on other thread that I haven't seen this team looking as fit since Pards' "tenacity, sprit & flair" days, when we routinely had 10% more in the tank than other teams and pulled late goals out of the air in what seemed like every other game.

P.S. My enthusiasm has nothing to do with a few pints of auld aquaintance and having had money on both a late goal and the Sig scoring.
P.P.S. Not into Rodgers slagging. McAnuff nearly scored the goal of the century (and, okay, Rasiak possibly the miss) and who knows, maybe if he was still in the hot seat we'd have been moving even further forward now, but the team are clearly playing for BMcD, so give him the job.

Tactically good, team selection good, subs good, motivation good, fitness good, comes across well.
