Won't be on the OS till tomorrow but James Harper has signed permanently for Sheff Utd.

May I be the first to thank him for what he did for the club during our most successful era ever. Best Wishes Harps

Congratulations Harps, all the best with Sheffield.

It very nearly hurt hearing your name as you played for the opposition.

IMO we should have built our midfield around you and Marek with another to be a box to box workhorse.

Maybe the amount of verbal sh*t he had thrown his way last night by a small but vociferous away following made his mind up.

If true, I wonder how much, if any at all? Or if it's a pre-contract agreement in place for him to sign in the summer...

He signed a two year contract. McDermott and Gibbs wanted him back and didn't know he had signed for them.

Can't say I miss him.

Not even good enough to clean Caskey's boots.

United took over the rest of his contract when they signed the loan agreement. To all intents and purposes he's been their player since he went there.

Harps was one of the most friendly, polite and cheerful players the club has had. While it probably suits both parties it is a real shame to have lost him.

His energy and never-say-die attitude must never be underestimated when people speak of the success the club had in the clubs best ever two seasons - I remember John Motson saying him and Sidwell was the most hard working 'partnership' he'd seen since Lennon and Murphy at Leicester.

Good luck Harps, you stand for everything that this club has lost in the last 18 months :(

Fair play to the guy for going then if that was the case. Never had a bad word to say about the club, part of the most successful side in the clubs history. Hopefully he gets shown a bit more respect at Sheffield Utd than he did here.

You mean Neil Lennon and Robbie Savage don't you? Or Lennon and Izzet.

What Murphy are you talking about?

Why would anyone throw abuse at Harper? Personally I don't get it.

Judas is such an over-used insult these days, I think it should be reserved for people like I dunno... Brendan Rodgers perhaps? I mean don't forget, he didn't get the sack, he left us by mutual consent. TRAITOR!

Top professional and a top guy, on a par with Murty in that stakes. Been a superb servant to the football club and I for one wish him all the very best for the future.

A player who ran his heart out for the team when he played, he is a player who I truely admire. We really could have done with him this season as he added something both to the attack and defence. Those who dont see that clearly don't have a clue what they're talking about.

Suffice to say, I get the feeling the management of this club are again not having a say on who leaves the club and its more about the backroom. This club is on its knees and we need players like Harps who can inspire.

Personality-wise, my favourite ever Reading player. So many of the 06 team brought character to the field, and that's desperately missing now.

Gets my thanks for being part of 'that' team, his debut against rotherham (?) and walking round Tesco on Vastern Road a few years into his tenure wearing the full monty Real Madrid tracksuit while shopping.
Having said that, he wasn't contributing much over the last few seasons and needed a fresh start

Thank You Harps you were a brilliant work horse for us during 'that' season and before unfortunately you weren't the same after we went down. All the best with the future but not against us! :P

!THANKS!
