£85M tonight!

by watfordroyal » 05 Feb 2010 18:15

I'm gonna win the £85million tonight!

So giving me a budget of say £60m, how much do you think SJM will settle for? in order to leave me with a decent transfer kitty for the summer.

& who should I tap up to buy d'ya think?

Doubt you'd have change.

By the way - are you expecting to get any of it back ?

so if you buy the club for 60 of the 85 million, how much will you then invest in the team for each of say the next 10 years?

I think we make a loss of around 7M a season in the championship, so 60 for the club you would be all but skint in 4 seasons before any investment you choose to make.

or you have 25M to invest next summer? then what? Hope we get promoted and then invest money you don;t have the next summer?

What you need is a prudent financial manager to do the day to day running of the club. Please find attached my CV and note that I have a clean tractor drivers license.

I will offer SJM £40 million, take it or leave it. I will set aside another £20 million and then I'm not putting in a penny more.

I would buy the Football club on it's own, not the hotel, and do a deal on the ground for a lowish rent, similar to LI

The actual club/team cannot be worth more than £15mill, and thats top money, but would repay his loans to the club side of things.

I would allow them to keep the car park cash, but would want the franchise for merchandise.

I would ban that Woodcote fella from the ground, and ask SC to return in some capacity, poss financial director!!!!

1. He will tell you do 'do one'.

2. If he says yes, we will be League 2 within 3 seasons.

Not moaning at your offer, it just takes a fair bit more than that, to run a football club.

I had that idea years ago along with buying up the shitty pubs in Whitley and bulldozing them. Looks like someone beat me to it

£20m is more than JM has put into RFC, I guess RL does not want the Hotel either, hardly a wine bar is it.

Madejski won't sell to someone with less than half his wealth and no idea what they're doing.

And that is no doubt why Madejski can't sell the club. His personal valuation of the 'business' differs from that of anyone else who might be a position to buy it. It's a good job he was running the publishing business, as opposed to deciding the prices of the cars that were up for sale!

And that may be one reason why scenario 2 may still happen with him in charge!
