Happy to be a Reading fan again

by Archie's penalty » 07 Feb 2010 00:08

I'm quite drunk. Just got back from the pub with Papes after watching the game on someone's Iphone that they lent to us.

I think I am happy to be a Reading fan again, perhaps more so since the end of the 2007 season. We have Mcdermott making decisions a la Coppell, young players coming through and a good team spirit. Rodgers is gone. Long live a prosperous future under McD!

How strange - regardless of how things are going I've always been happy (and proud) to be a Reading fan.

I'm with you on that one. For some reason I've enjoyed this season.

It feels like Reading have returned to where I first started watching them: a small, struggling second level club known for playing good football.

For me that is the benchmark, anything better is wonderful, anything worse is disappointing.

But I love hating it.

I have said it so many times. I couldn't support any other team.

What? surely you must be embarrassed when we don't sell all our allocation for away games or don't sing quite as much as the opposition at home?

And the best thing about it all that we just know we'll lose on Tuesday night, and probably follow it up by thrashing WBA.

I fcukin love this club.

That's nothing compared to the angershakery I feel when we figure so poorly in the annual football arrests table. :x

I don't think we'll lose during the week, but not 100% sure that we'll get the win either. Not sure about the WBA game, will probably go to a replay.

I always expect the best of out of Reading, when bad things happen I am more dissapointed than sad. There are some moments when I am especially proud, but I am always proud to be one of the few truly wise people in this world that support Reading Football Club.

From pre season Meh, deflation to dissappointment to dejection, to a high, to a low but always supporting the team. Never a dull moment eh!

That's what football is all about - it's pretty much the same whatever team you support.

Well, Reading FC seem to be incapable of mid-table obscurity. It's a constant succession of promotion or relegation battles. That is what makes this club so special - for me anyway. It might be heart-stopping, windswept, and occasionally mind-numbingly poor, but it is never boring.

Good point, we've finished mid-table twice in the time I've followed us. That's 15 seasons!!
I consider midtable to be around 10 - 16/ maybe 17
