Neil Shaka Hislop - I liked Steve Death, and Marcus was pretty good most of the time, but I haven't seen anyone better than Shaka.

Shaka for me. He's my favourite player ever, not only was he a great Keeper he had great charisma and a rapport with the fans that was second to none.

When I was five there was a rumour that he was joining Forest and I got upset. My dad wrote a letter to him about it and he sent one back (which I still have) saying that he didn't want to leave and inviting me to meet him in person. That should tell you all you need to know about the him. Great player and a nice bloke as well.

Death is one for the oldies - I never saw him play so it's got to be Shaka or Marcus and, well, Shaka's black so that settles that.

as an oldie I'd obviously vote for Death, but in reality he was just a division 4 goalie.

Technically it must be Hahnemann or Shaka.

'78-'79 was my first season as a Reading fan, although I didn't go to many games, so naturally Deathy is fixed in my mind as the best.

But actually, Shaka and Marcus performed consistently well at a higher level so head over heart I would have to go for:-

Best Goalie of all time? Depends what you mean by best- In terms of loyalty you'd have to say Steve Death, Hahneman because he was the goalie when Reading hit their best ever league position, Leighton cos he played for his national side (at the World Cup too?), Shaka cos he was a decent guy - all subjective isn't it?
