oldebiscuit For all those fans that booed mills last tuesday here is a generic statement of apology for you to read out;
I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all concerned. I am very sorry that i booed Matt last Tuesday, even though his reaction immediately after us booing him was outrageous.
I apologise and realise that us 'big mouthed empty vessels' are a minority, yet we are the ones that the players hear, and although i don't understand why, we do not represent the majority of well behaved, discernable football fans that don't shout their big mouths off.
I am so sorry that i do pees off the average football fan but i am unable to help myself. I realise that it is cowardly to hide in the crowd an abuse people from a safe distance without having to look my target in the eyes, but it make me feel 'big', especially in front of my like minded mates.
I am sorry to say that i take some consolation in knowing that despite the fact that i am in a minority, all clubs throughout the land have 'bell ends' just like me.
I would like to apologise belatedly for being obnoxious in the past, to players like Tony Rougier, Keith Jones, and Andy hughes to name but a few, players that despite being League 1 players, did not perform like Ronaldo week in-week out.
I would like to say that this apology come from the bottom of my heart (sheds tears) and that it will never happen again. I shall be attending a
'minority football fan clinic' for treatment for my embarrassing behaviour. Sorry.
PS It is ok to boo Emille Heskey and other opposing players, but only with a good natured smile.

F**k that, I don't want Reading players to be whining divers like that Portuguese prick.
If they dive and win us a penalty or free kick then that's good.
If they dive and don't win us a penalty or free kick then they can oxf*rd off.

bigshaka'away' IDIOT. Mills was booed AFTER he gave the finger. So no im not going to apologise to him. Why should I. He has to the fans and thats what should have happened. End of story. You can if you like.

Royal1983 Mills swore after the booing started, he was being booed every time the ball came to him. Agree he shouldn't have done but he did, he has since appologised so everyone needs to get over it and move on. A player should never be booed by his own supporters as that defeats the object of supporting the team. He has 1 bad game and a few people jump on him for it, he's human for f's sake not a robot!

The DonSpaceCruiser
You're probably right. But what about when they whinge their arses off to the referee?
Depends if it helps us or not.
Winning is everything.

If Mills was booed AFTERWARDS what prompted him to make the gesture ?
He was booed twice (at least) before he turned and saluted the East Stand.
FWIW I don;t think the fans owe anyone an apology. The tactic was rubbish and deserved the catcalls, just sad for Mills that he was the one tasked with putting the tactic into effect. It would have deserved the boos even if it had been Parky, Murts or Shaka doing it.
