Spotted! - Royals special

by URZZZZZZZZ » 11 Jun 2010 12:45

I'm not sure if I'm alone but recently I have seen a great influx of people wearing RFC shirts in different places. In the last 3 months or so I have spotted RFC shirts:-

2 in Bournemouth
1 at Waterloo Station
1 in Dagenham
1 in Northampton

Anyone else noticed just how popular we are these days? 8)

If you see an RFC minikit in a 59 plated silverr Audi A4 somewhere in

Manchester, Leeds, Hull, Grimsby, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Sheffield, Nottingham, or anywhere in the M, LS, S, WF, HD, HU and N postcodes then it's me!

Slightly off topic, stumbled across Bramall Lane yesterday while driving through Sheffield to see a customer.. Bit of a shite hole to say the least..

I was wearing my RFC shirt on the beach in Antigua a few years ago and this couple approached me saying they were from Philadelphia and big fans of Bobby Convey. 8)

Admittedly this is hardly the most thrilling of threads, but it is the off-season after all and there is no need to be a cock about it.

I always seem to see RFC shirts on jaunts abroad and the most chance encounter was in NYC last October. Wandering around St Paul's Chapel on a crisp autumn day, taking in all the emotion of the 9/11 display stands of childrens letter to the lost fire fighters and family photos and letters honouring the deceased, suddenly an apologetic english voice broke the silence. "Is that a Reading scarf? We're all season ticket holders". So I ended up chatting with a family of RFC fans from Maidenhead, shaking our heads sagely and bemoaning the poor form under Brendan Rodgers inside this grand cathedral of mourning of human tragedy.

Saw a few being worn in Bracknell a couple of years ago, seems to have all gone back to Chelsea, ManU, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal now though.

Disagree! not a bad football ground and not too bad an area for a football ground either, bearing in mind that most football stadiums are bang in the middle of Victorian built areas. Just look at Elm Park, it was the stadium that was shite, not the area.

Saw an orange away replica shirt being worn in the Morrison's just outside Newquay last weekend - was it anyone on here?

...and a couple of years ago, stayed in a chalet in La Plagne with my two daughters, taking the last empty room & sharing with a party of 8-10 others - one of whom was wearing a Reading scarf & hat as she got off the coach... we had some good chats & I've bumped into her since at the MadStad - don't think she posts on here but if she (you) does (do), I'm not being rude, just lost your mobile number along with loads of others when my phone died...!

I know these aren't the most far-flung, exotic or unusual places but it does seem we get everywhere
