Sheff Utd Tickets

by fozzy » 05 Sep 2006 10:04

I have received my tickets for Sheff U (Ticket Office in efficiency shock - this time actually got 5 seats together on our AST instead of 5 separate ones  )

I notice my tix are lower tier. Does anyone at STAR know if allocation has been split (i.e. half upper and lower) or are we subject to the same idiots as last year?

If it's the latter, have you had any feedback from Sheffield as to why they won't change it and what plans are in place for better protection of their visitors?

I believe everyone has lower tier. Upper tier is for a larger allocation.

Note: No beer served

I would hazard a guess that it would be Sheffield United fans, if anyone.

Actually I meant that it could well be open to pay on the day Reading fans if open at all - or of course SU fans - it could be vertical segregation, selling lower tier first then upper, depends if they are selling us all of the lower tier or not doesn't it?

There was beer in the lower tier last year...

But not the year before. The upper tier will contain cretins that insist on throwing things down. The stewards will deny this happens. It's all rather tedious. Especially since the terms and conditions on Blades tickets state the George Lamb stand should not contain home fans. At least they used too. I pointed this out once, but they didn't take kindly to a cocky southerner...

The campaign after last February's incidents still carries on.

We've had the motion at the FSF Fans' Parliament go in our favour, and I'm due to meet with the FA about this (and other matters) on Friday. There are a few other things in progress but I'll not put them in the public domain just yet.

The most relevant and immediatet item for this match, though, is that the FA's Head of Stadiums and Safety has promised me in writing that an FA observer will be at the match at Bramall Lane this month to monitor what happens, and in particular they will be looking out for any further signs of "missile-based disorder."

and FA observer will be at the match, notice they have not said they will be anywhere near the problem areas

Can you make sure Reading fans in the area know hhjow to reprot any problems to this observer as well as teh stewards

No doubt sheffield will look to keep this FA observer in some hospitality area where he is well wined and dined and in an appropriate place to reprota nd take action on what he saw regarding "missile based disorder"

There will be some STAR representation that can advise STAR Campaigns and the other appropriate Board members of any issues (should there be any) so that swift action is taken again

Well done STAR.

I've been critical of your organisations stance on a number of issues, but credit where it's due. I just hope that this isn't just the FA paying lip service to appease any disgruntled fans.
