Yes, if I remember to do it. (That's a hint for a reminder.... ;) )

That's a good prompt to let everyone know that we'll be sending out pre-seeded renewal forms in the last week of June.

Existing members just have to check the details and sign the form, write out a cheque and send or bring the form in to renew.

What's the process for new members?

T.R.O.L.I. What's the process for new members?

Forms will be available at the club in about a week, and will also be on the STAR website.

Fill it in, add the money and send it to us or bring it in.

We'll also have the on-line method available via the FSF website as last year - but that costs us slightly more to administer so we'd prefer non-Exiles not to use that.

As soon as all is set-up I'll post a sticky on here with all details.

I didn't renew last season and don't feel as though I've missed out on anything so will not renew this season.

Having said that, If STAR members still get a 10% megastore voucher I will definatey join if the megastore ever had £100 or more of merchandise that took my fancy.... which is unlikely considering I don't like the current home or away shirts enough to buy.

Yes. There are times when I wish they wouldn't align themselves quite so closely to the club, but I suspect there are sound political reasons for doing so. On the whole I think they do a pretty good job.

Yes - worthy cause and there's always a potential for money-saving if I'm going to away games on my own.

Will renew for next year. STAR will probably more active than ever before with ground expansion due to start next summer and maybe a possible takeover within next couple of years. Nice to have the cheaper travel option but something I will avoid if possible.

I agree STAR may be more active with the ground expansion but before that we have an election and we do really need more people to come and help us be active. You can stand for election as a Board member or if you think that is too much commitment you can come along to meetings as a team member and get a chance to help out various projects. Send me an email at info@star-reading.org if you are interested and want more info.

Now that we have something in the region of 4000 members we ought to be able to get more people involved than the 10 to 15 we get at meetings so please consider helping even if it is an offer of specific expertese as an when.

10 poxy Royalty points aside has anyone got a decent reason why I should part with my money?

I won't attend the meetings, I won't be using the coach and on the one occasion I did contact them, after a disabled mate of mine was treated terribly by stewards at an away game, my two emails to them went unanswered.

I shall be keeping my tenner thanks very much.

Interesting thread, 4000 members @£10 each, so obviously £40k, never seen the accounts, where does this large amount of money go? I assume there are published accounts?

Too late found this pic of a real STAR, and seems it goes on beers.
