Perhaps someone can confirm this definitively. Am placing it under the BBC forum as, presumably, its the best place for confirmation.
I believe that Saturday will see the first time that Reading FC will have a complete game of theirs televised live on national terrestrial telly.
Previously their one other national terrestrial telly appearance was in 1954 when the 2nd half of their friendly with Racing Club de Paris was shown.
Other terrestrial telly appearances have been confined to ITV in the 1990s when not all regions elected to take the game - even the play off final itself - and certainly not in Scotland or Ireland as the BBC game is being shown.
Finally, re: the 1954 game, was this the first ever live football match shown on the telly or perhaps the first ever televised live game under floodlights?
