Tom Hark

by Royalshow » 13 Feb 2007 16:17

Would it be possible for the royals footie phone in this week to have an official vote for the removale of goal music at the madejski?.The debate has been raging on for some time. The back the boys team are not listening to personal complaints so i think we need a bigger platform to go from.

out of a crowd of 24000, 240 personal complaints would represent very small minority. 2400 would represent 10%. Thats still a small minority.

Thats probably why they are not listening to personal complaints.

If you want to change this, organise a petition outside the madstad, get enough supporters with enough interest to stand at every gate before a game and get 10000+ signatures.

Be clear about the alternatives you are proposing don;t just say get rid of Tom Hark.

You could canvass opinion in the form of a questionaire, give people option, are you happy with Tom hark yes / no

would you prefer some music or no music

would you prefer song x, song y song z

would you liek a different song each season

etc etc

get some significant numbers on the feedback, as I've said 10000+ who want something different.

If you can't get at least that, then while you don't like it you are in the minority and there would be no reason to change.

And remember while you may not like Tom Hark, whatever they do or whatever they play, someone won't like it!

how about we just leave it as it is, it never hurt anyone, if weve just scored, 1 song wont bring down the enjoyment enough to meak you want to run home and post on a message board about how poor it is, just do your own thing, jump up and down, no ones gonna care, just leave it as it is

How about at the next home game the Back the Boys team have a vote?

First, the crowd are asked to cheer if you want to keep it.

pause

Then, the crowd are asked to cheer if you want to lose it.

Loudest cheer wins.

I dislike it intensely but to be honest I'd say BTB are completely justfied in continuing to play it for as long as the crowd respond. The decenters, myself included, are in a very small minority.

It's never played when we are behind. It's only played if we equalise or go in front. HTH

I don't approve of Tom Hark, but if your going to play it you should play it when we score from behind if the game is on and we were not dead and burried.

Must say the noise after the goals on tuesday was brilliant. The pure emotion from the goals was then, deservedly, transformed into chants for the goalscorers. The way it should be. Was so much better and it should prove that we do not need orchastrating by music.
