The artist's drawing is designed, I suspect, merely to show the new roofline.

I would imagine that the stadium will have walls and turnstiles to stop people without tickets coming in. There may also be seats in the corners.

In exactly the same way as it does now - I suspect virtually nothing will change below the roofline of the existing stands.

I have heard that the Railway and M4 Jct 11 improvements will have been carried out by the time the stadium reaches it's new capacity.

Also I heard that the Southa Stand would be developed first as there are no STH in that area. The North Stand next with the STH being relocated to the South Stand. Then the East last with STH being relocated in the New North & South Stands.

Bring back the South bank I presume they'll be filling the corners in?

Aren't they already filled in, you moron.

Look at the drawings Spacey, they show open corners after the extension.

So they'll move back the existing stands then? Surely this is only an artist's impression, doesn't mean that there will actually be open corners!

The article on the OS it says that the West stand will be left alone, so they have just left that as is on the impression. If you look at the supporting structure it carries on above the "empty" corners, I would suggest they left that open so that you could view the west stand as it currently stands. The corners will be filled, every report written these days states how bowl shaped stadia are more condusive to a good atmoshpere.

Don't forget that it still all has to get past Reading Borough Council's planning department.

That's what this consultation is no doubt all about - so if this is going to be given planning permission then eveyone needs to actually respond to this consultation exercise and say how much they are in favour of the expansion.

Don't just leave it for others to do!

Does anyone know if there are also any plans to update the Make a Madejski Stadium cake recipe?

Andy West has just confirmed on 2-ten FM that the South and North stands will be developed at the end of this season with the East stand completed the following year.

Better picture on here. Seems to suggest that there will be gaps in the North and South West corners.

That's still the same artist impression we've already seen. Not necessarily going to be the case.

"The Premiership club in Berkshire wants to increase its capacity from 24,045 to 38,000 irrespective of league status."

I don't see the point in leaving knocking down the corners and losing exec boxes. :?

Surely the point of an artists impression is to give a fairly accurate portayal of the finished structure from the plans in place. Leaving out two whole banks of seats in the corner is a pretty big ommission.
