Royal Lady OK, I'll admit we played far from rubbish yesterday  I still HATE that song with a passion though and steadfastly refuse to sing it or do-do-do along to it. Thank you.

That's your opinion and you are perfectly entitled to it. I hate the Tom Hark with a passion, and after the 5th went in yesterday I looked around and couldn't see anyone NOT doing it... So I joined in. Felt like a complete twat though so didn't do it for the 6th.

I still NEVER join in with Tom Hark.

I hate Tom Hark but it seems to be enjoyed by some so bear it but I do wish we'd stop using it when we score more than 2/3 goals. It's sounds terrible when it's repeated. and repeated. and repeated. I thought that last season when we had a few 5-1 results.

Although this season, it seems to be being drowned out quite well in the East.

Oh yeah, and enough with the Soccer AM 'easy' chants. Passe.

Seconded.

I reckon BOOM BOOM BOOM by the Outhere Brothers.

BOOM BOOM BOOM is already played... followed by CLAP CLAP CLAP

Glad you appreciated the irony. The only WH chant I joined in with yesterday was the 'Who's the oxf*rd with the drum' one. I'm sure MoTD put a microphone near him too - he drowns out everything on the TV.

There's a time and place for the drummer but it can be mistimed and it really must be a MASSIVE drum cos it boooms out of that corner.

Alan Partridge
Silver Fox I've spoken to another player who thinks it is possibly the worst idea ever for an anthem

Has to be Marcus who in all fairness has the worst music taste on the planet!!

I don't think Neil Diamond is in Marcus' cd rack.
He's always going on about Tool, whose early stuff is tremendous.

I think it sounded really good on saturday. More people joined in and sung it. They just need to keep playing it and it will slowly turn into a proper anthem.

The players actually asked for this. I suppose if it inspires them, that's the main thing.

I don't mind having a go at the chorus, but the rest escaped me until now.

SWEET CAROLINE
Written by Neil Diamond
Where it began
I can't begin to knowin'
But then I know it's growing strong

Was in the spring
And spring became the summer
Who'd have believed you'd come along

Hands, touchin' hands
Reachin' out
Touchin' me
Touchin' you

Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined
To believe they never would

But now I
Look at the night
And it don't seem so lonely
We fill it up with only two
And when I hurt
Hurtin' runs off my shoulders
How can I hurt when I'm with you

Warm, touchin' warm
Reachin' out
Touchin' me
Touchin' you

Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined
To believe they never would
Oh, no, no

Sweet Caroline
Good times never seemed so good
I've been inclined
To believe they never would
Sweet Caroline

1969 Stonebridge Music (ASCAP)

Having said that, I'm a Terry & June man really.

Why do we have to have an organised song or anthem? Whats the point? Are we sheep? Spontaneous celebration and disorganised fits of screaming stupidity are best when we have just scored!

As for Sweet Caroline, quite agree that when players sang it on Championship day, that they would have sung 'Humpty Dumpty' had anyone started it!

Totally agree. The use of music to celebrate goals is a very baaaaaad idea.

Sucks the celebration away.

how about using the song 'the spy who loved me' from james bond.

instead of singing 'baby, youre the best' we could change it to 'reading, youre the best' - its slow enough for everybody to know the words and sing in time and you could generate some serious noise from it. nobody else sings it either.

just an idea.

Why don't we go back and support clubs like in the 80's and early 90's. No gay rumble sticks and music after goals. Just pitch invasions and scraps.

To be fair they could play any old sh1t when the team comes out and some people would join in.

Sweet Caroline is stop start and doesn't work.

As for Tom Hark, it has to be the best football crowd music if they have to play anything. Wolves used to play I Feel Good which was much sillier.

I wish they's get rid of that effing "Premiership anthem" - possibly the biggest load of tosh going.

BoLOLton still do, and have two blokes running up and down in front of their equivalent of our East Stand with massive flags (well they did last time I saw them on MOTD)
