size 12 Anyone use the Bracknell bus yesterday?

Can you tell me what time it got back to Bracknell, and how popular it was? We didn't get out of the car park until 6pm last night, and I really don't want to be hanging around for that length of time again

Was back home by 6. I have already said it, quality service and price. My only concern was the lack of people on it. I think this has already been said 'use it or lose it'. The bus was probably about half full.

I got the bus that started in B'stoke. Got on the bus in Tadley and it was alright. Picked up a few people in mortimer, none in burghfield (at least i dont remember any!). Nearly had a run in with a cement mixer, saw a crash on the roundabout and rolled up at the group around 2pm. Only thing that held us up a bit was the usual traffic around junction 11.

On the way home they spilt destinations and sent a bus direct to basingstoke and the other did burghfield, mortimer and tadley and the driver made an extra stop to drop an old guy off right near his house!!

Takes a lot of hassle out of the day for us lot out this way. Me and my Dad will probably use this all the time now.

Well done RFC for finally getting buses sorted for those of us a bit further out!!

Not that clear yet, the Bus website..

All sorts - For help - the Bus timetable from Wokingham -( route 953) will leave 'about' the same time as the published Sat times + the diff in kick off time - 3pm vs 8pm. .Add 5 hours to bus schedules listed and you have the plan. Although quite how the bus will carve through evening traffic and arrive anywhere near schedule is beyond me.
Pies are not that good at the Madstad either...

WOKINGHAM-
Wokingham, Bean Oak Shops, 13:28 - 18.28
Norreys Estate, Shops, 13:31- 18.31
Wokingham Broad Street, 13:36 - 18:36
Emmbrook, Rifle Volunteer, 13:40 - 18:40
Winnersh Crossroads, 13:45 - 18:45

Me: "will you be running midweek services"

Supervisor on the Wokkers bus: "Yes, but who knows where we'll get the busses from as much of our fleet is contracted to provided school services"

Don't panic....

I called Stagecoach today as I'm taking someone from Crowthorne to the Wigan game. I was told (although the woman was vague) that they had no schedule for providing buses mid-week, and it was for Saturdays only.

On that basis I will plan to drive

Its new so I guess all are discovering how well this works. From what I saw Saturday it leads to me to believe the Club and the Bus / Coach company will try and make this a success. They really have to bearing in mind the proposed stadium expansion which surely will happen.

If Bus options fail leading up to the Wigan game I will propose a shared 6/7 seat Taxi from Wokkers and back. Fare at a a guess would be 18 quid each way max.

See you Tuesday

So the busses are definitely running for tomorrow nights game then ? Excellent news.

Any chance you could post the times of the Basingstoke / Tadley (951) service ?? Thanks

I just contacted the Reading FC office for the Wokkers route 953.
Basically the evening bus for Tuesday will leave 30 mins later than the equivalent times for normal 3pm vs 8pm K/O. i.e its plus 5 1/2 hours
Rifle Volunteer - dep 19:10 - arrival at Mad Stad - 19:30....
Only allowing 20 mins is pushing it at the best of times....

Looks like any drinking before the game will be at the Rifle.
Bit tight for time before the first half Kickoff.

We need to see the new schedules published in full for all the routes on the OS soon....

Bracknell times as requested, however make sure that the one you pick up has 30th January 2007 written on it.

Thats good - glad to see the site info explains the time differentials from Saturday 3 pm KO as well to eliminate any doubt.
Time for a couple of beers before the bus stops at the Rifle.:D

Got to say I used the service from Basingstoke for the first time last night and it was excellent - despite an incident on a railway bridge (car embedded on curb blocking anyone from getting past) out in Pingewood, which result in most of us arriving 15 mins after ko (we only missed Heskeys goal - so no great loss) - Stagecoach were excellent in getting a second bus out to get us to the stadium asap.

I would strongly urge anyone considering it, to use it - if we dont fill the bus up, then RFC / Stagecoach wont see any demand for it and will withdraw the service.

I would think the success of these buses would be taken into consideration when the council consider the stadium expansion application, so it would be good to see the buses full.

I know the club are keen for more pubs and social clubs to follow the Rose & Thistle and Prince of Wales in running buses to the stadium for matches as well.
