Warehouse sale from the club

by Redroyal » 16 Oct 2008 14:42

This may be in the wrong section, so if you feel aggrieved please feel free to move it to where ever is deemed most suitable.
I have just been forwarded details of a warehouse clearance sale from the club, so if any clothing is wanted or early christmas presents, official merchandise etc it might be worth going along. The link on the official website is http://www.readingfc.premiumtv.co.uk/pa ... 26,00.html

On 2nd September I ordered items online totalling around £70 and paid extrra for next day delivery. The order was acknowledged by e-mail the next day but I have heard nothing since and have not received any of the items. Has anyone had similar probs?

Is that an offer to help them?

I understand that it is a massive clearance sale which has some really good bargains.

We'd rather sell them than count them etc etc. Still an opportunity for bargain hunting.

Suggest you moan at the club and find out which excuse they'll use...

"Went in the post this morning mate"
"We'e waiting for stock to come in, probably get some at christmas, failing that next season"
"What order is that then"
"Computer says no"

An email to Customer Services and/or the Merchandising Manager should sort it out for you. I'm pretty sure they'll do something to say sorry for the inconvenience too.

Friend of mine went there today and phoned me up to say keyrings 25p, T shirts £1, scarfs 50p and championship winning season books 50p

Some bargains to be had, I told him to get me a couple of t shirts.

Parents went down and got about 400 quid's worth of stuff for about 100. Some good bargains to be had down there.

That was a great sale, £250 worth of stuff for £30, bargain.
They've sold out of Marcus' book though which is a shame.

What did you buy for £30 that would have cost £250 then?

Actually £250 may be a bit much as I'm guessing the price of some things and I rounded it up.

Last seasons away kit x 3, RRP: £114, paid: £15
Championship Book: RRP: £15, paid £1
Polo Shirts twin back: RRP: £20, paid £3
Mouse set: RRP £15, paid £5

I'm guessing the RRP on these, may be miles out though.
Hoody: RRP: £20, cost £3
Poloshirt: RRP: £20, cost £2
T-Shirt: RRP £20, cost £2
Championship medal: RRP: £15, cost £1

Whilst there clearly were some great bargains to be had, I don't think you can really use the RRP of an out of date kit to justify it being one of those 'great' bargains!

What was even better was that the dappy cow on the tills was so engrossed in her conversation with the others there that she managed to add £13 and £15 and get it to come to a total of £18.
