Transport at Southampton away.

Bit confused about this park and ride and buses for the southampton game. Firstly, are the stubs on the ticket for the football park and ride scheme mentioned on the football ground guide website, or is it for public buses in southampton.

It says on the back of your ticket, I believe it is one inbound and outbound journey on public buses for free on a match day

Sounds like a cracking scheme. Presumably Southampton City Council don’t profit from the St Mary’s carpark.

Last time we played Southampton away I used the park and ride.

It was very congested getting to the park and ride. It didn't help that the route from the M3 went past the park & ride on the wrong side of the dual carriageway with a U turn at a roundabout.

It cost to park (I thought it was free park AND ride).

The bus was free.

It was a long way to the ground taking almost 1/2 an hour in traffic past many Saints supporters parking on the roads and walking.

I got in the ground with 2 minutes to spare.

After the match we were lucky to get on the last bus as the people behind us in the queue has to wait a very long time in the rain for the buses to return and you have no other transport option.

Based on current form I assume that after this season we won't be playing Southampton again for more than 2 seasons 8)

^ 'greed - and it's the right side of the station for the plethora of student-orientated (i.e. cheap) bars in Bedford Place / London Street. For a game when the students are at home on their holidays. Sweet
