Reading World

A winge up about the rip-off that is Reading World...

I joined this service as all 'True Reading fans need to be a member' etc.

Seriously though, what a waste of money. A couple of highlights, mostly available on TV, and 'News at it happens' which really isn't all that important.

OK, fine, each to their own. If you're getting value for money; cool. I decided it wasn't worth it, after a few months, and cancelled my subscription. However, I did this a couple of days after my last direct debit had gone out, assuming it would not charge me again for the next month. It didn't, but my login failed from that day on, even though I'd paid for the existing month!

OK, it's only about £4, but that's as good as theft in my eyes. I'd paid for the month and expect to get the service I'd paid for!

I'd expect that kind of shite from a cheap porn site, but even most of them honor your last payment (I take this on advisement of course!)

I have to say, this whole "World" thing makes the club look cheap. (And all other clubs in the leauge, as they all have the same thing going) Every article you read ends in a desperate plea for your 'World membership".

The championship websites are NOT good either. They make you suffer an advertising page before you can read the main stuff, even when saved in your favorites. They're littered with advertising. Every news article ends in a 'World' advert. A third of the time, the O*ford page doesn't load anyway. I go to the site daily, I pay for my season ticket, yet I fell like I'm being hounded for the extra couple of quid daily.

We're a football CLUB. We're all members. We all do our bit.

Yet, aparently, we're all still 'customers'.

Sad.

Reading World IMHO is becoming more pointless as the as the days go by. You only have to look on the Evening Post website on a Friday to catch the full video pre match press conference where on Reading World you get a 3 minute interview. The goals highlights are viewable on the Virgin Media website if you wanted, which begs the question what does Reading World have left to offer?

I do also agree about Premium TV, they served the club a purpose 7 years ago when they came into business and we were an up and coming club in Division 2 but maybe a whole new template is needed for the OS, Portsmouth completely redesigned their OS and on a whole looks a lot better.
