rhroyal Much as the pitch is horrific, both teams have to play with it. We've been playing on a poor surface since January. Surely it should suit us?

Our recent home form suggests it's not quite working that way.

Coppell said that it is harder for a team playing on it regularly than it is for a team who play on it for a one-off match. He said it after the last home match.

Grass looks like it has been left a little longer for the rugby so an early morning hair cut tomorrow before the main event. Pitch clearly wet but does not look like it is cutting up, well not too much :x

The rugby was actually scheduled 48 hours before any football match.....

It was noticeably better - the advantage of a couple of weeks of no football I guess !!

Why the f*ck couldn't anyone at the club be *rsed to get hold of some green* paint and cover over the rugby pitch markings prior to last night's game?!

For that matter, why couldn't they be *rsed to sweep up the rugger buggers rubbish from the stands either?

And if anyone claims they did clean the stands, then their cleaners are clearly as well motivated and effective at their jobs as the football 'players' that took to the pitch in blue and white last night!

* edit: Perhaps brown, rather than green, paint would be more effective.

I didn't actually notice any rugby markings - but I'd suggest your comments are insulting in the extreme to the ground staff who would have worked pretty much a 48 hour non stop shift to prepare the pitches.

Have to say the North Stand was spick and span, and as I understand it 99% of the rest of the ground was fine too. They just dumped the whole lot in your row RB, in the ongoing personal vendetta the club are waging against you

Having watched the game on tv, some of the rugby pitch markings were clearly visible. The try line was one such line which extended across the pitch from the 6 yard box.

Shame that we continue to kowtow to the satanic murdoch and his forces of evil (allegedly)

I can't begin to think how many times those markings were responsible for us misplacing a pass or players being out of position.....

Clearly duberry got so confused by them that he went for a conversion rather than a shot.

As you're so in with the club perhaps you could have offered your services to the hard pressed staff then!

'Insulting to the extreme' - what a complete and utter load of b*llox even for you! My comment was 'why couldn't anyone at the club'.

If the ground staff really couldn't cope, why the hell didn't the management help them out by hiring in some temporary labour to assist them?! Or are you now going to suggest that contract grounds maintenance staff do not exist?!

As for not noticing any rugby markings - it really is time you got your eyes tested and please don't drive a car on the road (or more likely pavement) until you have.

You 'understand 99% of the rest of the ground was fine too.' No doubt your sources at the club assured you of that fact. Or maybe you are just used to living in a tip, you certainly seem more than happy to accept & excuse second best. The cleaners (and their visually impaired supervisor) who look after Y21 clearly frequent the same opticians as you.

Perhaps not all of us attend events at the stadium with the sole intent of finding fault ?

It must be very painful to spend an entire life with a broom up your arse.I suggest an ad in the Barnsley programme in case anyone has found the sense of humour that you lost many years ago.....

By the way, you must be a bit disappointed to find that 'arse' isn't a naughty word and you could have used the word itself rather than sticking a '*' in it. Nice use of the word 'f*ck' though. Your kids would be proud of you.
