TestiMurtyal parking

by CMRoyal » 20 Jul 2009 12:20

Just realised I have to drive to the match tonight - is it a fair assumption that I'll get a parking space at the stadium, do you reckon? Just like the old days!

Bear in mind that parking permits aren't valid tonight, so everyone will have to pay - expect queues while people look for money, argue that their permits ought to allow them in, etc, etc

It would be really in keeping if the club made a sizeable contribution from the parking money to "Swings and Smiles".

I didn't realise until I got there I have a parking permit and was not happy to pay on top. I know it's for charity but £7 is taking the piss.

For tax reasons the testimonial can't be organised by the football club - it's got to be done by a completely separate and outside organisation. If it's run by RFC then the proceed as are deemed to be part of Murty's employment income and therefore fully taxable, so it just happens to be held at the MadStad, in the same way that a pop concert would be.

So no way could people use parking permits issued by RFC for what has to be an outside event.

At least you were allowed out of the car park while people were still leaving the ground though, just because it was a smaller crowd I'm not convinced there was less need for stewards to stop people getting run over

Pleasantly surprised that a safety fence had not been erected in Shooters Way.

Not shocked to see a Steward telling the cheerleaders in the corner of West to sit down.

While the Reading 05/06 fans were allowed to stand throughout  No doubt the club will say they were dealt with in the concourse but hpw can we possibly believe them?

Special shout out to the retards who don't realise that black and white stripes on the road are generally regarded as a crossing. Fortunately I was able to leap out of the way. Oh and cyclists - that applies to you too. Dickheads.

The car park could have been made available free of charge though, could it not ?

Or would that have been counted as a 'benefit in kind' and taxed ?

There would have been no need for stewards so no cost to the club - and there is no car park charge for reserve games which have attracted crowds not too far below what we had last night so I don; think there is a reason why there HAVE to be stewards....

Some of the older girls had very well defined... appearances... that could only truly be appreciated if they were standing. Shame on them for being such a danger in a half empty stadium.

Piss off mate.

I'd much rather have a new winger.

I don't think £10,000 or so would put too much of a dent in our transfer budget.

Or it could wipe it out totally, depending on your view of how Madejski/Hammond are running things.
