I have always backed the introduction of a safe standing area. I think the club should seriously look in allowing Y25/26 to become a standing only block.

They can look into all they like, you have to convince the FA first.

The organisation is ran by a bunch of money-thirsty politicians. Would never happen.

He said "a bunch of money-thirsty politicians"

"a couple" might have been nearer the mark.

The FA should be ran by former players etc. Not businessmen or politicians.

I understand that, but you said "I think the club should seriously look in allowing Y25/26 to become a standing only block." and I can't see how that'd make an ounce of difference when it's not up to them.

To be honest, I don't really know how you would go about implementing this system. I would of thought that the club would have a big say in it though.

The club have no say in it unless the FA decide safe standing can be implemented, and that doesn't seem very likely.

Other clubs seem to have safe standing areas in place, with no problems whatsoever?

Actually it's the government who need to change the legislation covering the Premier League and Championship first. The regs are issued by the Department for Culture Media & Sport and enforced by local authorities under the supervision of the Football Licensing Authority.

Once the election has taken place and we know who is in power, then the campaign will know who to target.

Magnus Let me ask you then Big Foot - do you feel your safety has ever been comprimised at the Mad Stad?

Heaven help you should you ever visit a football club that hasn't been named family club of the year.

Yes, last night. I'm writing a strongly worded letter to both Clive Doyle and The Guardian as we speak.

Is there really any kind of political will / interest in whether a few thousand people can stand up at a football match ? It seems an extreme minority issue...

I'd much rather they focused on (say) ticket prices if they really want to get involved. Much more relevant to a much larger number of people (but still a niche thing interms of things like the economy, the NHS, education and Aghanistan - which is where politicians really should be focusing their concerns.
