More Flags?

by LoyalRoyalFan » 15 Mar 2011 16:48

I noticed up at Eastlands they liked their flags and banners.

Should Reading do something familiar home and away? Add a bit of character to our ground.

Yes, can someone make one with "Back The Boyz And Make Some Noize" on it please.

It could be adorned with a photo of a face-painted mong.

'The we're not really here' banner just below an empty top tier stand was hilarious. Comedy gold.

Anything permanent and football-orientated would be deemed unacceptable as it would "upset the tenants."

Looks to me as if he's talking about fans flags, which I agree we don't seem to have many of. What happened to the enormous flag that used to go around before games?

I miss the Royals flag with the RAF symbol for the O.

Last seen at the World Cup last year.

I am sure there is a petty, mindless, beureaucrat scrolling through all sorts of rules, regulations and by-laws making sure that we cant do something like that. Also, pisses me off that the club take the flags from the kids after the players come out of the tunnel. Let the kids keep the flags FFS. What harm can it do? Sorry, I forgot. This is a well run club which has been awarded family club of the year.

The stewards didn't like the Team Burbs Against Racism banner.

We used to have a lot of flags around the ground in our promotion and premiership seasons.

Who was it who had the flag with each of our players country flags all tied together to form one big flag? Thats was a good one.

I'd be up for more flags. Will bring one on Easter Monday to Blades game. Think I've got St. Georges Cross with Reading badge on somewhere.

Given up on flags. The moment you try to hang them over a wall you get told to remove them because they are obstructing a small part of the paint (not the wording) on an advertising hording!

Dinosaurs really, the lot of them. I sometimes feel like we haven't moved on since the 70s.

Surely banners at the back of the stands won't block anyones view? Or even advertising?

Wont it ruin the airflow to the pitch. Isn't that what people blame Wembley's poor pitch on? The last thing anyone wants is a crap pitch?

Oh...

When the big flag used to go round before ko you could open and drink a can of lager in one go, out of sight of the cameras above y25, before it disappeared again. Those were the days.
