Harpers So Solid Crew We made a profit in both seasons in the Prem, we have balanced the books since thanks to parachute payments and player sales, this season should also balance thanks to selling Siggy.. I feel sure JM would rather go up now and have more money for the next 4/5 seasons than stay in this league and have to sell to balance the books next season. As for selling ST at a lower rate, big deal, all renewals deserve it, and most new ST will be previous, so will have put a lot of money into RFC, except Whizzy, who seems a nice lad so who cares.

At £395 Carla and myself will be back in to watch some of the teams we missed out on, personally would love to have 30k attend at a lower rate than 23k at the higher rate.
Are the extension plans still an option?

Tbf - it wasn't any dearer this season was it? You're only going to come back because financial circumstances are allowing you to - it's nothing to do with the fact it's "only" going to cost you £395!
And I thought it was discussed to death on here that we HAVEN'T been balancing the books - we've made losses. :|

I will be coming back to watch Prem football, at what seems a reasonable price, if we do not go up I shall not be getting a ST, as the thread had moved to Prem ST I assumed that was easy to see what I mean.

We had black holes, that were covered by sales of players and other cost cutting. The accounts showed operating profits of about £12mill for the two Prem seasons, which magically became a loss when folk asked where the money went. The club repaid an overdraft of £6m or so, money that came from profits. The black hole this last summer was covered before the sale of Siggurdsson. The club is not rocking and rich with a vast hoard of money, but it is financially sound, with no money required from JM, fortunately.

wasnt anything magical about it, they simply pointed out that the +12 million didnt even cover the losses form the previous two three years or summat.

overdraught was 7 million wasnt it?

How much was a Season Ticket last time we were in the Prem? Wasn't it £450?

We're effectively getting a £75 discount this year IF we go up. Multiply that up by 10,000 STHs and thats £750k the club have given back to the fans, or a cool £1m if we top 13,000 STHs, which at that price for Premiership football I think we'd do with ease.

Was it 16,000 STHs in the Premier last time....

I wonder what Madejski thinks about it. I wonder if someone who came up with the early ST renewal idea, the one that didn't factor in us going up, is getting a little uneasy.

Not sure thats true, think we lost a lot of money in 2008/09 depsite player sales due to having most of the squad on massive wages. Also conventiantly forgetting the combined losses of 30 odd million under JMs 1st 15 years at the club.

I have vowed not to renew until the summer, but thats going to be tested to the limit if we are still heading for the play offs come the end of this month!

Went from £360 renewal in 05/06 to £545 in the Prem years to £395 back in the Championship IIRC. That was for East/West Lower.

If we are looking certs for the play offs at least by the end of April, I would expect see to see the policy on season ticket purchase to be changed giving a window for non season ticket holders to purchase at the current price now or risk a significant revision upwards if we were to get promoted.

Which may be one of the reasons they've done it - so they're not holding onto seats of people who aren't going to renew, that they can then resell to new people while the season is still on.

But that problem would have been solves without annoying people by having a £20 "I'm renewing, reserve my seat" option.

That policy's already been changed. Non 2010-2011 season ticket holders have been able to purchase STs for next season, ever since they announced the 28th April deadline. They just pay £20 more than the prices ST renewers pay.

Except that most of the decent seats have STHs in already, each of whom may not be renewing.

BTW, Portsmouth have done a similar thing, but they gave supporters just under 3 weeks' notice of the bringing forward of the deadline. And if you buy at the cheaper, renewal, rate - before your seat goes on general sale, you're not allowed to pay by credit card! To pay by credit card it's £49 extra!

Sales will be in different stages with existing season ticket holders given first option to purchase their seats for next season at a special early bird rate.

They will have until Thursday, April 28 to take advantage of this offer before seats go on general sale from Tuesday, May 3 until Tuesday, May 31.

Existing season ticket holders also have until Thursday, April 28 to renew their seat before it is made available to other supporters.

Pompey commercial director Lucius Peart said: “This season Pompey fans have once again shown they are the most passionate in the country and we hope they continue their fantastic support next season.

“There has been a slight increase in prices from this season due to the rise in VAT and payment of a levy to The Football League.

“Despite this, we feel the prices offer value to our fantastic fans, while also making good business sense. We have also come up with some improved payment plans to make buying a season ticket more affordable.”

During the first phase of sales, seats can only be bought by cash, cheque (made payable to PFC Realisations Ltd) or by using Zebra Finance (application forms can be downloaded here or picked up from the megastore). Supporters can either purchase their tickets by post or in person from the Frogmore Road ticket office.

In the second phase of sales, supporters will also be able to pay by credit/debit card, by calling 0844 847 1898 or online here.

2011/12 Season Ticket Prices:
Fratton End/South Stand/North Stand – Adult
First Phase: £450 – £19.56 per match
Second Phase: £499 – £21.69 per match

There's probably still over 13K seats to choose from, plus if you're not happy, Movers Week to secure a better spot. Either that or wait a few weeks, pay an additional £150* premium and still get stuck behind the bloke who shouts bag-of-fluff. :?

*Completely made-up figure.

Was it that much? Wow.

So basically you can double the loss I posted earlier then.

Just renewed and, given our current form, I'd suggest all those who wish to watch their team next season from the seats they've occopied for years give up playing silly mind games and do the same.

Yes, those at the club, who thought nothing of demanding renewals before the end of the current campaign, have been arrogant in their approach and shown scant regard for fans who will struggle to find the money but the teams performances in recent weeks means that only those of us in the Upper West will have to stump more than £400 for what might be a season in the top flight.

The goal posts have moved and this is no longer the time to take a stand on an issue that should been handled far better than it was.

Anyone taking a stand might now lose the better seats, even though there are no better seats, and get used to it, as in the future this will be the way renewals happen.

Unusual - won't this affect the view for some who have already renewed?

Some will be delighted if it helps create an illusion of mid-table mediocrity which they crave.
