4.5 days to sellout 39396 tickets, just waiting for the "hard luck" stories to start surfacing now......

Pat Butchers Ring
Maguire Everyone's a plastic once - the real test is whether the new people come back again after Monday.

To be fair I thought we had gotten over this 'plastic fan' paranoia after the premier league years. Nearly all tickets have been sold to Season Ticket holders (plus 1's) or Member card holders so very few people will be day trippers. Some people have (god forbid) other things in their lives and cannot make more than a few games a season. I have no problem with any buying a ticket, its more money for the club and they might actually come back and watch us again!

To be fair, two of the other four I'm going with definitely are there just for the big day out. One's a Spurs fan who comes along to the odd game every few seasons (although he's local, so he would consider Reading one of his other clubs anyway), and the other is the brother of one of my mates who very possibly hasn't been to a Reading game since the Cardiff final. We're all member card holders.

Plastics.

Where were they back in the days when the board would crash under the weight of speculation over Robbie Fowler's imminent arrival?

It's pleasing to see. Not many over on AE yet but that can take time.

I just hope they stick around - though glenroyals earlier comment about there being too many social media outlets around these days to ever recreate the glory days was very pertinent I fear.

It's easy enough to cut and paste your inane ramblings into any number of scial media outlets, though. Just look at how easily Dirkers manages :!:

real intersting reading the rants of some posters on here, they naturally assume that a newbie poster has not followed reading for long,
some times they can god forbid be very wrong :P

Gutted i didn't get a ticket. I've been following Reading since I stopped supporting Arsenal in 2005, when we got promoted to the Premier League. Despite being back in the Championship I have stuck with the Royals through thick and thin. I only wear my Arsenal shirt on Champions League nights or when Reading aren't playing or up the park for a kickabout. Come Saturday though, when I'm at the Madstad I'm a 100% Reading fan. Can't believe thousands like me got a ticket and I didn't.
