Bus fare changes

by Kingsley Junior » 03 Aug 2011 17:42

Details on bus fare increases in bold below - just a heads up for those making sure they have change for the bus on Saturday!

Full details available on the official site at the following link http://www.readingfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10306~2408938,00.html but key points are:
• Stagecoach bus fares remain unchanged.
• The Royals are continuing to subsidise Stagecoach buses from Basingstoke, Farnborough, Wokingham and Bracknell.
• The majority of Reading Buses fares remain unchanged, with 70 to 76a inclusive unaffected.
• Reading Buses have increased return fares by 50p each way on the 77 (Foster Wheeler Shinfield Park) and 79 (Reading Station) due to sharply rising costs. Adult returns are now £4 and child returns £2.50.
• There is a £1 adult return fare increase on part of the 78 Newbury service, 50p return increase for children.

It's almost as if they want us to drive to the ground! All this will succeed in doing is putting off families from coming to games as football starts to become more "exclusive".

Just get the bus down Basingstoke Road if you're that tight, you'll save yourself a staggering 60p by doing this!

how can they justify that when it's £3.60 for a daily bus about? park in whitley and walk 20 minutes, or get in the car with a friend or two and pay the fiver car parking fee locally.
