The points system wasn't working properly on the website earlier in the week, as a result an unknown number of people were able to purchase tickets without having the required number of points for that day...

Cover up ;)

Online ticketing was taken down for 24 hours without explanation, and it was because they were trying to solve the glitch mentioned

I have three tickets which the system allowed me to buy two days earlier than I should have been able to given our Royalty points levels.

Those who weren't aware and possibly didn't get tickets as a result may now be in the home end stand next to the Reading block.

All of which means it's not bollox

They are hardly going to admit to this balls up, given the unfortunate criticism they receive on such harmless matters as categories of points etc. (we all do it  )

But they admitted they sold over 2,000 tickets on day one, which would be downright unusual compared to previous games. West Ham sold about 900 tickets on day one for example, if you check the threads on that one. Brum has sold out quickly when into the 1000+ points category, whereas (I think!) West Ham had 1,000 tickets left around this time.

I'll admit its conjecture, but when you add this with the stories on hob nob of a free for all on day 1, then it seems to add up. They always stopped selling online later that day too, citing technical glitches. I'd be the first to say they should deny the whole thing. Frankly if you are desperate enough to check online when you know you can't buy them you deserve to go! Probably regular away fans as opposed to ppl with a ST since RP were introduced.

In fact hats off to the ticket office if it is true - they ceased online sales until it was fixed, which allowed us 1800+s free reign to buy at our allotted hour!

I don't think anyone can blame you for it either. Knowing they were effectively on general sale means you couldn't wait until the alloted time as it would have sold out. The people who have suffered are the 5-1000 pointers anyway, or perhaps those of them who don't read internet forums. Hopefully the only punishment will be row A! Kind of funny if its only hob nobbers who read "club policies" down there! 8) 8) 8)

Of course there isn't! They haven't got the balls to admit to yet another massive cock up with the ticketing system.

Rest assured, there was and the club should do the decent thing i.e. apologise, explain what happened and why, and what they are going to do to ensure it doesn't happen again.
