Who said anything about npower being the sponsors? They supply the gas and electricity for the Football League, and get paid in fixture lists.

At the little FL office in Preston? Can't see that using very much at all. And the office in London is owned by the PL, so the FL wouldn't be paying for power there.

Look, this is just what I've been told by my very reliable source of electricity and gas.

We won't play Blackburn, Bolton, Burnley or Derby, who will take part in two special fixtures marking the FL celebrations on the opening day.

I'm fairly impressed that none of the fixtures leak beforehand.

Cobi
Pepe the Horseman It's Donny at home. A mate of mine works for npower and they all get given the fixtures a week before they're officially announced.

npower aren't the sponsors of the football league anymore.

I'd love Leeds at home to be our first fixture!

Either that or Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday, Boro, or Birmingham

In for Leeds at home. I would welcome the opportunity to welcome/thank Brian as soon as possible, and before the competition really hots up between the two teams. A 2 2 draw would then be the perfect outcome in my eyes so neither manager feels humiliated and they can shake hands nicely at the end.

Some opening day fixtures are sneaking out now. Arsenal home to Saints for one.

Are these reliable though or another one of those stupid rumours that people tend to fabricate?

RedAction ran with it, and Simon Peach appears to trust them and RT'd it.
