Northampton way?

M40 A43. Roundabouts are a pain in the arse on A43 but quickest route by far.

Go out the back roads of Emmer Green and out to Watlington and pick up J5 (I think) of the M40 to make it even quicker, save the faff of M4 (in either direction)

Always found that the M40, (j15- A46 (Coventry by pass) to the M69 and join the M1 (j21) at Leicester is quicker than the A43 route.

Yup - do that trip a lot and unless there's a "traffic incident" the M69 is generally a bit quicker...

Sat nav always goes for that route but as I do it at 7-8am on the way to Alfreton its quite busy and the A43 is better. Not sure what it would be like on a Saturday. I'm going on the coaches so will be interesting to see which way they go.

Enjoy the A4074 out to Oxford, that's a certainty for route direction.

Thanks for the help, I'll go via Coventry (M69) as I have done that route a few times before.

Forget the name but the pub on the hill, right by Hillsborough. Cracking pub it is too, and good for parking along the same road.

We're arriving at about quarter to 12 so will be heading into the Howard opposite the station first, is it the Horse & Jockey or the Railway Hotel you're on about Sparta? 'Cos we were thinking about heading to one of these after then!

If you like your real ale the pub on platform 1, or if you go out the main exit and go right is a great starting point.

Sounds like a plan! Or it may be the last pub we enter, our train out isn't until gone 7!

Delightful, you managed to find the £34 for the train. My mind is at ease.

Pubs in town:-
- Sheffield Tap, Platform 1 Sheffield station - huge range of ales and lagers, brewery on site, snacks, highly recommended
- Rutland Arms (Brown St, 5 min from station) - ales, lagers, good food, also highly recommended

Pubs near ground:-
- Hillsborough Hotel, Langsett Rd (5 min. tram from Leppings Lane) - good beers, accomm, not sure if food available
- Horse & Jockey, Wadsley Lane (up v steep hill 10 min from ground), nice when there last time

Avoid: The Park, Wadsley Lane near bottom of hill - home fans only, dead-eyed lunatics and rapscallions to a man

Studying in Sheffield with a decision to make. I can sit in the home end for £9 but have to keep quiet, or I can join you lot for a whopping £27... :?

How many tickets sold for this game? Haven't made up my mind on making the journey yet.
