Larging it (a bit) at Mad Stad...

by jc32370 » 10 Jun 2015 15:12

All

I can't afford the full 'corporate box' treatment but can anyone recommend or otherwise alternatives to the standard seating? I think there is there 1871 Suite but I don't want dinner each home game. I also think there was something called the Loddon Bar, I'd be interested in what people think of that or anything other option?

Thanks in advance

JC

Isn't this what the Upper West is supposed to be?

An area where you feel like you're away from the peasants ( ^ ), and by paying a few extra quid you price out the idiots, but you're not part of the prawn sandwich brigade.

1871 bar is hardly a meal

It's a room for the people who want to be, but can't afford to be, in corporate. So for you.

A pint of Guinness, a meal in itself.

That's what one thought when one purchased the old ST. Sadly one was misled. :(

1871 was useless. Once the game starts you can't buy alcoholic drinks at the bar - even at half time. You are directed back down to the concourse.

That was my experience at the Swansea pre season last year. Won't do it again.

Wow. Don't ask an innocent question on here. You will get people swearing at you. I thought this was a supporters forum for all royals to get together?

I think Royal 1234 that was aimed at me. However when there is a fully licensed bar away from the stands one would expect to be able to buy a drink at half time or what's the point of it?

Not at all. You did not swear or make references to sexuality. I have no problem with your reply.

It's got a view of the pitch, so no half-time (alcoholic) drinks. You should be able to go to the Loddon bar though.

The Loddon Bar and Kennet Suite in the West Stand provide coverage of the game on a screen but in any of the corporate areas that have a view of the pitch you will not be allowed to drink due to cameras picking up on drinks.

My advice would be to get a season ticket in Y26 and decant your pint into a soft drinks cup at half time in order to smuggle past the yellow jackets. Either that or a hip flask. The hotel is good for pre and post match drinking too.

No! I meant I think the reference of 72 Bus was a reference to my reference, not your reference. Or maybe not?
