STs for season 2019/2020

by Sutekh » 28 Apr 2019 10:15

RFC ST prices for 19/20 presumably will be forthcoming this/next week now that it’s known what level the club will be at

I think the East Stand last year was £350 to renew and £375 for a new ticket.

So what would you do. Put up prices or keep them the same?

What pricing do you think is good value for the Championship for a club in Reading’s position?

Personally I would put a small increase on prices! Say 5%?

Well the prices have been frozen for something like 4 years now, I would expect a £20-30 increase.

Would expect another season of the same prices.

One thing to note is that last years financing company, Zebra, are not offering season ticket finance going forward for next season - https://www.wycombewanderers.co.uk/news/2019/march/zebra-finance-payment-plans-unavailable/

I would expect another company to come in and offer this service, but it’s just something to be made aware of.

ST prices actually went down for me and my son for this season. I doubt there are better priced season tickets in the entire division. I would expect and accept a rise in price for this time around.

Would hope and expect prices to stay the same.
The owners have generally been very good about keeping prices low and doing fan friendly stuff around prices. We all know the FFP issues but upping prices would make very little difference and would probably see a net decline in revenue as it would give some people a reason not to renew. By keeping prices stable they can make a big thing of being the 5th year of no increases for the vast majority of fans. They also need to ride the wave of goodwill Jose has brought since January and get more fans to buy into the 'project'. Getting a 10% increase in STH is worth more than getting existing STH to pay 10% more.....

I would concur with the sentiment on a personal level, I think my ST is exceptionally good value and wouldn't object (or hesitate to renew) if it increased in price. Whether this is the right strategy to actually increase crowds and revenue I am not so sure....

Maintain the current pricing stucture. Having worked hard to get the "positivity" back within the club. Another PR gesture would send everybody off for the summer hols feeling good.

Part of the problem for the club is average attendances are down on last season. We will probably end up with an average gate of 15,000 this season. If there is any price hike it will have to very small.

I think it will depend on how they see us doing next year, more struggle and we may as well up the price a bit now whilst there's decent mood.

If they think we should have a better season and finish mid-table or better I think we'll see a slightly bigger increase this time next year after another freeze.

Doubt they will put up prices after another poor season and dwindling gates.

Need to factor in that part of that reduction is self inflicted. By reducing the away capacity we've possibly knocked 1000 off our average home gate. Club1871 is a positive thing but it won't be earning us any revenue as it's essentially just relocating home fans within the ground.

The club is still winning fans back so I don't envisage an increase.

Our pricing is and has been incredible. They could put it up 20% and it would still represent comparatively good value.

Why would any fan want season ticket prices to increase?

Nobody has said that. The fact remains ST’s are incredibly good value. It works out at about £8 per game each for me and my son. If the club increases prices I will have no complaints.

Our season ticket prices are cheaper than some league 1 and league 2 teams. Represent exceptionally good value.

Superb value. It’s almost that they are so relatively cheap I don’t mind missing games when I can’t be bothered though...

Reckon they’ll basically freeze again

Always fantastic value for a club of our size and location. Hoping fans stick with it as the last couple of years have been tough and I know of a few who begrudgingly got them last season saying they wont bother this time around

I can't see the prices going up. Football is changing, the live midweek games put some people off attending when it's on the red button and the fact season ticket holders can bring other supporters along for £10 for these games means that if you are a season ticket holder (unless you go to all 23 matches) it probably isn't worth the saving it once was.

It’s £15 a game as an adult STH. That saves £5 a game minimum. The odd game where you can save an extra fiver if you can get a STH tobuy you a ticket hardly compares to the overall saving.
