Delay in receiving the kit, i.e. modelling it etc is because of a balls up behind the scenes. Otherwise we’d have seen the kit on Monday as was planned.

We usually see the kit by second week of July and it tends to go on sale for the home friendly.

There was a cockup this year which set us back a few weeks, hence the reveal will tie in with the kit going on sale shortly after this time.

What we do every year is frustrating for many, but each club can pay a specific tier for when the kits are produced by and released, so it costs a bit more to have it in June than July etc. Reading being Reading save some money every summer by leaving the release until the last week or two before the season starts. A small saving if you will.

This summer however it’s just be a royal f**k up.

I mean does it really matter? Does it genuinely have an effect on people's lives that they cannot get an overpriced replica shirt this week or next week?

To me thats just being outraged for the sake of having an excuse to moan about nothing.

Who buys replica shirts apart from full kit vvankers anyway?

Of course not, but the argument is there that we ended the season on a high and the feel-good factor was back, and we could have chosen to capitalise on that. The other reason to release early is to take advantage of the early sun, and kids nagging at their parents to get them the new shirts. It’s all small things but it’s business sense that’s all.

But we couldn’t have released the kits at the end of the year because the new sponsor wasn’t confirmed :|

Also, something like that would’ve had to be planned a good couple of months in advance, when our season could’ve easily gone the other way, and if it did, there wouldn’t have been anything to capitalise on.

Surely there isn't much to gain. It's hardly likely to result in many extra units shifting, just a bit earlier. So if there is a cost attached to releasing earlier it's a no brainer.

You would have to plan well in advance to move the release date, so what you make up in one year from positive end of season buzz you lose in another from end of season disappointment and fatigue.

There's always going to be a buzz in advance of a new season.

Yep it is Joseph Mills.

He is one of our best players and key to our success of last season.

Do you think you might get a half & half Reading/FGR shirt?

No. I don't like RFC shirts. They have been historically un-chic.

Having a kit made of bamboo is asking for trouble if you run into any giant Pandas.
Having a shockingly poor design is just asking for trouble.
Have FGR banned haircuts for environmental reasons or just to fit in with the faux hippy branding ?

I’d be more concerned when they’re 2-0 down and can’t see the wood through the trees!

The whole team Don't have hair like that.

I like the kit. Come on you FGR!

I missed a couple of memos regarding FGR

I remember them being well thought of - plucky little overachievers, etc

The next minute - every football blog nonce out there can't find enough bad things to say about them

A bit like Reading actually I suppose

Well we've hardly been the best behaved team from a football purist point of view. . . . .

There’s a disappointing lack of ITK’s regarding the kit this year. Paul doesn’t even seem to know anything.

I would imagine that has something to do with the new supplier and potential new processes.
