PATRIQT There's a rumour of a potential 3rd kit this year, and it may be black.

Love the black away kits. Loved QPRs last season, but 3 kits is taking the piss. Clubs don't need 3 kits. You watch some of the PL clubs and some of those kits might only get worn 2 or 3 times.

I know you have to have three kits available for European competition, so a lot of Prem teams will always have a third one.

Obviously for clubs lower down it's just another revenue stream. I don't mind really as I like kits and gear and all that stuff but yeah, we've had two kits for years and never had an issue.

I like the idea of one-off cup/charity kits. With our link to the No.5 youth charity that could be something to look at. Remake a classic from yesteryear for the FA Cup or something.

surely a third kit just cannibalises the sales of the home and away kits. Assume most people will choose one kit to buy, not all three?

It's not about needing the kit, it's about fans buying the kits and some fans might buy a 3rd kit.

Maybe they should knock up replica kits in a variety of colours and sort of crowd fund them, if they get more than x number of backers or £x then get it made, Who cares if the team actually wear it or not, If someone wants to wear a pink Reading shirt, for example why not make them one and take their money?

Some will buy more than one, and having a 3rd option probably gives people more chance of having a kit they like.

It is almost certainly about milking sales though. There's rarely a need for a third kit.

Interesting, Macron haven't missed yet - so will wait and see.

Would also explain the need for a 3rd kit.

How many in-house staff will be losing jobs as a result though? They've contracted out the online fan store.

So it mentions the fanstore, and online store will be closed until the 12th July. Is that then the potential date for the new kit to go onsale?

I would say that would be a good indication, certainly then or maybe the following weekend.

Might explain why the Fan Store Manager left recently.

Fanatics is garbage for various reasons, ask any American sports fan

Teams get lured by the savings of letting another company handle online retail but they are notoriously bad here. They eat up competition and make poor quality items. Soulless, boring.. actually maybe a good fit

This would be an issue if the current stuff sold in the megastore wasn't absolute shit. Fanatics stuff whilst maybe soulless can genuinely not be worse.

Would guess 12th online with sales starting in the Megastore prior to the West Ham game on the 16th.
