Done it a few times over the years, but only when absolutely necessary.
IMO if you're in the opposition stand, you cover-up any colours, keep your mouth shut and don't celebrate externally.
Not particularly easy to follow this advice up at Leicester when Doyler scored though :D

At the CC game against Chelsea it was Reading fans ejected from the North stand for having a go at away fans. Go figure.....

There again the away fans were quiet and the RFC ones were threatening....

So glad the guy in the Leicester TO sussed us out and swapped our tickets in the home stand for those amongst the travelling Royals!

retired aggro What do the club do to away supporters in the home end. Obviously if they blend in and don't get noticed nothing, but what if one was to celebrate a goal. Do they just get thrown out or handed to the police and charged. And if they do charge them what do they charge them for?

You've got to make it to the home end first.

the only game where I recall there being real problems was the FA Cup tie with Man Utd about 10 years ago. Certainly no Utd fans (stood on the southbank anyway) celebrated after the first Utd goal.

I think their was an extra bit of needle there as the Utd fans in the home end were locals, people from Reading, happy to cheer against their home club. That certainly increased the level of hostility towards them that you might not get from having an exiled Man City fan in a home stand.

What they normally do is move you to the end you should be in, and just advise you it is for your own safety ..

Think you need to be more worried about people seeing you not celebrating when Reading crash in their 5th goal than cheering at the slight chance of a Man U consolation.

bobby1413 I would dread to think what would happen to the idiot stupid enoguh to celebrate a chelski or manure goal whilst in the home ends.

There would be a riot.

I remember when we played Leeds last season and this c**k was in a seat with his young son...when he celebrated their goal i and lots of others around us were furious.....told him he should be in the away end.....some mutterings about he supports Leeds and Reading......i told him you arent a true supporter if you support 2 sides! I think he got away with it as he had a kid with him

AF1 I do recall though some manc fan who thought it was a blinding idea to come stand on the right side of the bank with his kids I think - during the FA Cup game a good few years ago. As memory serves he got a smack in the face when he cheered their first goal

No he actually got chased out of the south bank by a fair few.

He came to the entry of the southbank by the toilets and started singing glory glory Man Utd etc etc.

He actually lasted a little while and then after a chant of 5,4,3,2,1 Steeeeaaammm he got chased away !

CLASSIC

AF1 There was about half a dozen Leeds fans sat a few rows in front of us last season at the Mad Stad - when they they scored they stood up cheering - no one complained, kicked off and they weren't asked to leave.

I should point out I was in the upper west :(

I was in the Upper West that game too, and there was a Leeds fan sat right next to me. Must admit it did slightly peeve me but had Leeds not scored I would never have known as he hardly said anything in the rest of the match! I only noticed when they scored and he started doing the clenched fists routine and saying "yess".

To be fair though I think he was with a fellow Royal which seemed justified to me, and I've sat in the home end when we've played Gillingham a couple of times.

The City fan in the North Stand concourse before the game started last night must be the thickest fan ever!

What on earth possesed the plonka to wear his Club shirt in the Home section?

The tangos found him and out he went!

To be fair his only crime was eating a pie from our lovely selection.

Anyone who feels rage at just because a fellow humanbeing, who supports a different football team and chooses to place themselves in a seat in their vicinity, really needs have a close look at their attitude to life.

Thinking about it I am sure there were times at Elm Park - when we were doing well, especially the 94/95 season when you'd have a few Reading fans going in the away end - just to get in.

Then you'd have their mates on the South Bank taking the piss with 'Gary, give us a wave' or something - and you'd look over to see some chap shifting awkwardly and staring at his feet whilst a thousand or so northerners stood there scratching their heads wondering who the fu(k we were singing at

RA and alad will be in the home sections when their beloved United come to town. Hopefully they will be sitting near the drummer as penance.

Here's one that won't be in the home end

The Evening Post Man U believe it - fan 'fed up' Kos he's on hols

When lifelong Royals fan Peter Iremonger looked at his team’s fixtures list, he was elated – and then devastated.

The season ticket holderwas overjoyed to see his two teams, Reading and Manchester United, going head-to-head at Madejski Stadium.

But on closer inspection he realised Reading’s game of the season is taking place while he is on holiday.

While he is lying on a beach on Greek island Kos, soaking up the sun, Lita and Co will battle it out against the Red Devils on a pitch thousands of miles away.

Mr Iremonger, who has tattoos of the emblems of both Man Utd and Reading on his arm, said he could not believe it when he looked at the fixtures list.

But he promised he was not going to take it lying down.

Have they really got "Bruv" printed on their shirts?

How do they tell them apart?

Chelsea fans celebrated in the North Stand back in the League Cup a few years back. Did anyone do anything? did they chuff! Just sat there shaking their heads and tutting.

If the Away end is sold out, how do they move away supporters found in home ends into the away end?
